Last semi successful attempt I tapered down from 8g to 3.25g over several months, tapering 500mg every 7 days until I got down to 4.5g and then tapering down by 250mg every 7 days thereafter, it was relatively painless, some minor anxiety third day post drop, but easily able to handle it.

Well, I was a complete idiot, and decided since I could just taper off it at any time so simply, I'd go back up to a therapeutic dose (was taking it for anxiety) about 3 months ago, except now 8g didn't work that well, so I went to 10g, then 12.

Tried to taper starting last week, as I'm jobless and even though I have enough to last 4 months at the current dose, I definitely do not want to run out dependent on it especially at a high dose, that'd be a nightmare. Not to mention quite honestly I'm absolutely sick of being dependent on it just to function, 12g barely does anything. Decided to initially drop to 11g and wait a week to see how I felt. A bit off but relatively normal by the 7 day mark.

Here's where it gets weird...I ordered a bunch of phenibut FAA because liftmode was out of hcl, decided to try that out even though I still had hcl because I was concerned about it not working the same, was time for my next gram drop, figured I'd drop a gram a week until I hit 8g. Since the scoop for the flour consistency faa was between 250-400mg, I assumed it was 400mg if I packed it tight and level, took 10.6 estimated grams. Fine day one, next day HORRIFIC depression, took one gram hcl at night (normally take my dose all at once in the morning) which seemed to fix the problem, I don't know if tapering down too fast as the problem or my estimate was way off on the faa. I know based on a scale in the past hcl is relatively accurate level scooped at 500mg since its granular.

So today I decided if it simply as too fast of a taper, maybe I'll try 125mg ed, using hcl for accuracy. Dosed 10.875g this morning, felt fine all day until 8pm, then horrible anxiety, pounding heart, derealization, sweats, typical phenibut withdrawal symptoms. Perhaps the dose reduction earlier down to 11g is just now catching up to me? Not a normal panic attack.

Should I start at square one (12g) and start a slower taper and just deal with the fact that I have a long road to go? 250 or 500mg a week? It seems like the dependence is much more ingrained into my brain second time around. I fucked up, I admit. I must note it seems to take 7 days for a dose adjustment to level out, so every day or 3 days is not gonna work.

What's the absolute safest way to do this? I have to be able to function to find work and be on top of my game. I will have to find a way to acquire more phenibut.

Only medical help would be going to a hospital, I cannot pay for a doctor.

Holy shit that's a lot of phenibut. I didn't have a problem of that magnitude but phenibut withdrawals seems to last 7-10 days and when I had withdrawal symptoms from a few grams a day for just a week or so, Etizolam helped tremendously. In fact, I had no withdrawal symptoms at all when I took the Etizolam. This can cause dependence too but not in the 7-10 days that you'll need it for. I would just stop taking the phenibut once I have my Etizolam and wait for withdrawals to start, then take a small dose and go up until you have no symptoms. Continue for a week and stop; see if you have withdrawals. You really shouldn't after 10 days but if you do they'll be very very manageable.

While Etizolam will likely help with symptoms, it may not work as well at the op's phenibut dosages. Phenibut is mainly a gabaB agonist while Etizolam activates gabaA.

I got off phenibut by switching to Baclofen and tapering. Baclofen is a skeletal muscular relaxer that just happens to be a gabaB activator (like phenibut).

Unfortunately Baclofen in a prescription, but it's not expensive (it's old) and can be bought online. Any decent doctor would write you a script and taper plan if you bring in some literature and explain (don't expect them to know the fuck "phenibut" is but they will be familiar with Baclofen). Baclofen is not a controlled substance.

I have also heard of gabapentin being helpful in getting off Phenibut, however Baclofen is the "go to".

I was in your shoes my man, take GABAPENTIN pleeeease. I'll give you some background.

I was using phenibut daily for around 6 months. Probably got as high as 10g a day but didn't have a scale at the time. Once I did get a scale I tried to rapidly taper down to 4-5 gs a day taken ONCE around 5pm. I had read people doing rapid phenibut tapers with ease and I tried, FUCK THAT. I had weird brain zaps, heart rate, anxiety. I was on probabtion at the time so I couldn't take benzos or smoke weed. KAVA helped take the edge off though but barely.

Anyway, so I continued the taper, and I did it really slow. I started around 5gs, then started taking off anywhere from .3g -.1g a day. Then say I got to 4 grams, I would stay at 4grams for a few days and then continue the taper.

But what really helped me was GABAPENTIN (Neurontin) SERIOUSLY DUDE GET GABAPENTIN. I was so glad when somebody told me that and it actually worked. I tapered down to 1.5g phenibut a day before I even tried gabapentin. I jumped off 1.5g phenibut a day and took 600mg -1200mg of gabapentin a day for 4 days. Damn close to absolutely no WD, it actually gave me kind of a speedy high in a way which I noticed because I had to work during this time and I felt fine.

Gabapentin is not a controlled substance so it is easy to find. I would try to taper down to atleast 3-4gs before hopping on the gabapentin as I'm not sure if it would be effective at curbing a WD at those dosages but it very well might.

And what's weird with phenibut, for some reason I don't get the AWESOME effects that I used to get when I first started and I gave myself a good 4-6 weeks off of it totally before trying again. I took 5gs last time and just had the dizziness, no euphoria that I used to get.

You can get off of this stuff man, the good news is I had no PAWS with phenibut at least that I noticed. Unlike benzos where people claim they can have PAWS months later, phenibut seems to vanish without a trace if you will.

Yes, gabapentin or better yet pregabalin will sort you right out. You can also function while high on these as evidenced by yours truly.
