Good morning everyone

As a long term insomnia sufferer, I've found a once weekly, mid-week 1mg dose of etizolam before bed helps me refresh a little and avoid going crazy, lol. Now, I took my first 700mg dose of phenibut before bed last night and I found it gave me the same desirable results as etiz.

What I would like to do is to take a once weekly 1mg dose of etiz and a once weekly dose of phenibut (on different days) just to keep me stable and allow me to last the week without getting *too* sleep deprived.

My question is: In your opinion, do you think a once weekly 700mg of phenibut would be little enough to help me avoid tolerance and dependance?

Many thanks in advance <3 :)

yes taking phenibut once a week will not result in tolerance or dependance..

Yep, keep your doses occasional and you'll be fine. Ionic magnesium citrate also helps with insomnia pretty well imho. I think the best approach to chronic insomnia is cycling daily of what you use to get to sleep at night. For me at one time, that was kratom, cannabis, phenibut, a benzodiazepine, magnesium, kava, and tetrahydropalmatine (from cordyalis, and imho a very effective sleep aid, thats the least addictive of anything i've taken for insomnia). That shit puts me down, and keeps me asleep, but doesn't seem to be at all recreational/euphoric. Its duration of action, however, makes it unsuitable if you can only get less than 7-8hrs of sleep, or you'll be groggy as shit in the morning.

You don't have to take 7 different things, but the more the better so long as they don't have similar receptor activity, at reducing tolerance and getting the best effects from them.

Thanks, daytryptr. I've been trying magnesium for a few weeks but it was only cheap stuff from the supermarket. I'll try some of the ionic. Also, the cordyalis, I've never heard of that, I'll look it up. Thanks.

Watch yourself with Phenibut. You can end up getting addicted to it and it carries the same withdrawal symptoms as benzos. I unknowingly used it without that knowledge every day for months until I realized if I didn't take it I would get the shakes and panic attacks. Did a 3 month taper and I was fine but it was a bitch of an addiction.

Did you get any effects after the first few days or did you keep increasing the dose? Because for me day 1 - really good sleep, day 2 - good sleep, day 3 - ok sleep, day 4 worthless (all at the same dose)?

Phenibut tolerance builds *rapidly*. I use it for social situations (1g), and honestly it is one of the best compounds I've used to reduce social anxiety in new situations. It really opens you up.

But my limit is once a week maximum (with a longer time between doses even better). It is definitely a drug, it definitely is *quite* active, and there are enough horror stories on the web about addiction.

I'm not sure this is a good daily-use drug at all. Though I have seen Russian sites that have some daily use regiments prescribed, they are more like 250mg daily for 4-6 weeks, far lower than the mega-gram dose reports you see out there.

i have found that i seem to respond fairly well to phenibut for weeks, months on end..i dont have to raise dosage very much but the main problem i get from it is brain fog..as far as quitting goes, i found that neurontin eliminates almost all phenibut withdrawals..

yep, phenibut works better as a social lubricant than most illegal/legal drugs imo..if i take 2-3 grams it has similar effects as ghb when it comes to social lubrication...

Yes I did. Increased the dose after a week. You shouldn't use this stuff a few days in a row anyways. It's a stupid high to chase and the price you pay in terms of withdrawals are costly.

I have yet to figure out why it's legal in the States yet it's a prescription drug in Russia.

In my opinion it's only "quasi legal" though it's not the same sort of illegality that scheduled drugs are. The FDA could probably sic the companies selling this compound as unapproved medication if they really desired to make a wave. Same as piracetam or any other compound which really doesn't fit the FDA's definition of "dietary supplement" that well. Compounds promoted as "nootropics" have never seemed to be a top priority of the FDA and DEA though.
