Phen vs Tryptamine CEVs

I have used 2ci once at about 18-25mg (not exactly sure bc I didn't have a scale at that point). I have also used 4-aco-dmt at 18mg (used scale). When using the 2ci, I noticed that the CEVs where very bright - almost as if they were being viewed on an LCD screen, but with the 4-aco, I had to look really hard to try to see the CEVs because they were very dim. So are tryptamine CEVs always dimmer than 2c visuals or is it just because I might have taken a little more of the 2ci?

I would not say the tryptamine CEV's are dimmer, but it may of course depend on the compound. CEV's on 4-AcO-DMT are not dim for me. On 25-30 mg 4-AcO-DMT it's everything but dim. I'm not a big friend of phens but I've used some, inlcluding 2C-I, but 4-HO-MiPT has produced the brightest and most beatiful visuals of all tryptamines, beating all phens I've tried too. Also, you are comparing two very different psychedelics. 2C-I is very energetic while 4-AcO-DMT is very mellow, for me very sedative and almost dreamlike.

One reason you may conceive the CEV's on phens as brighter are that the nature of the visuals are quite different from tryptamines. Phens give me quite "technical" CEV's, more machine-like, more "matrix-like". I know we're talking about CEV's here but on DOB my OEV's consisted of neon coloured webs, boxes and rectangles, something that has never happened with a tryptamine. So you also have to take into account the nature of the visuals, phens have different visuals that have a different impact on you than tryptamines. I think it's a matter of perception, not that phens "really" produce lighter visuals. And phens are generally more stimulating, making you more alert, while tryptamines can feel almost dreamy.

What other tryptamines have you used? It would give a better understanding of why you think phens have brigters OEV's than tryptamines.

For me, phens consist of a lot of flashing patterns and twirling lights. Where as the few times I've noticed CEVs on trypts (mushrooms, MET, 4-AcO-DMT) they have been a lot more "complicated" and free flowing, in a way. They usually aren't patterns, just weird shapes. I combined 2c-D and 4-AcO-DMT and saw a giant "space flower". It was TIGHT!

The majority of my tryptamine CEVs have been dim, as you say. But on a high dose mushroom trip it was like I was flying through a tunnel made of different colours at 100mph when I closed my eyes.

Phens have been typically "laser light" or "sparkly" type CEVs, a lot like a music visualizer. Sometimes this coalesces into an image or sequence of dream-like visions, but usually it's very abstract and fleeting.

My experience with mushroom CEVs on the other hand are much more "alice in wonderland" or "story-like" in the way that they have recognizable features from my subconscious and can have a sequence of events through them.

On Tryptamines I see incredibly complex abstract shapes. Phenethlyamines usually more make me see patterns. 2c-t-2 to me feels like a meeting point, I describe the visuals more like Tryptamines than Phenethlyamines.
