Is there a different test that tests JUST for MDMA?
Marquis by itself is a bit limited, although it's probably one of the better tests. There are a couple of reagents that test specifically for the methylenedioxy group. One using chromotropic acid has been proven to be reliable, particularly with dilute solutions of MDMA.

A 1% solution of sodium nitroprusside (warning; dangerous poison) can be used to detect ketones. With all three above reagents and the amine kits, it should be possible to differentiate between MDMA, methylone, 4-MMC and so on. Mixtures are more difficult.

hi mate could u please tell me how to do this

Apologies for the late reply - rather busy atm

Methylone and MDMA would react with chromotropic or gallic acid (methylenedioxy moeity)
Mephedrone wouldn't (no methylenedioxy)

Methylone and mephedrone would be expected to react with the nitroprusside reagent

MDMA reacts typically with Marquis, neither of the beta ketones will produce a dark colour change. Mephedrone --> pale pink with fresh Marquis, some report pale yellow, Methylone --> yellow
