Hey, i am in Canada, and I just bought some codeine over-the-counter (8mg codeine / 300mg Acetaminophen) for a pulled tooth. When I bought it at our local pharmacy, the guy had to write down my name and health card number (precautions, I understand). I was just wondering, If I went to a different pharmacy, would they be able to see that I have purchased that previously? Or are those records kept just within that one store

I'd err on the side of paranoia and assume pharmacies have the capacity to check whether you've purchased at others. In all likelihood they don't, and they simply make sure you're not hitting up one spot too many times, but I'm sure if they wanted to, they could track your purchases across stores. Just make sure your face isn't familiar to too many pharmacists, you'll probably be fine.

Of course, I'm just speculating, I've only bought codeine in our friends' state in the great white north a couple times...but sometimes paranoia is healthy.

Because sometimes, everybody IS out to get you.

In Sask, yes, every other pharmacy in the province will know you purchased that bottle, and you cannot buy another for 30 days. Could be different in other provinces.
