Hi. In light of some recent indications, I've took the liberty of deleting my own post. Although it's chock-full of good information, it seems clear to me that some people have announced their intentions to use this information for illegal purposes. So, I've deleted my own post for a few reasons.
1. It's TOO EASY. Telling idiots that this is TOO EASY will make them flock to the nearest drugstore dumpster, park their running car in front of it, blaring Kid Rock, and trashing the place while wearing a "MURDER ALL COPS" T-shirt. This makes it harder for people who DON'T want to get arrested. Or alternately, people who really ARE looking for cardboard boxes or batteries.
2. There's TOO MANY IDIOTS running around out there. (also, see #1) While the intelligent, cunning person may see this as the occasional way to some free benzos, there's probably going to be people who steal refills of Depakote, Zoloft or Prednizone. If some of the "extraneous" posts in this forum are any indication, there will be people either thinking or asking if they can get high off this.
3. PhreeX outlined pretty much everything you need to know in a quick guide. It's been up for a month, I'm sure most people who've read the post have committed the basic concept to memory. If you want to know more about the wide, wide world of Dumpster Diving, there's a very, very good book on the subject available from www.loompanics.com - the refill scam's not in there, but it's a very entertaining book.
4. I'm paranoid. See reasons 1 and 2. I'm cool with the liberation of cough syrup bottles even people running around town and amassing huge quanities of Schedule III drugs. I'm cool with a lot of things it just makes me antsy when people publically announce their intentions to commit fraud while doing something I do on a regular basis. Next thing you know I'll have a gun in my face for "stealing" day old french bread from a bakery dumpster.
