i live in mexico so i would have access if i wanted to it sounds pretty scary tho would like to hear expierences for ppl who have tried it..my dad used to grow peyote i think..he never went insane i hear some ppl have i think i would..

It's extremely uncommon for someone to go insane from psychedelics. If it does happen, it's because they had an underlying genetic condition such as schizophrenia that the psychedelic triggered.

Mescaline (the main active substance in peyote and other psychedelic cacti such as san pedro and peruvian torch) is one of the gentlest psychedelics. It's very powerful but tends to foster feelings of love and connectedness. I can't imagine having a bad experience on mescaline, but then I have a lot of experience with psychedelics.

What age are you if I may ask?

Also, your dad may have grown peyote, but it takes about 10 years to mature, so it would have been a long process. :)

I don't think you should try it. If LSD (if that's even what it was, and not just weed) caused you to hallucinate and not sleep for four months, then I don't think you should be doing any drugs at all and in fact should probably be seeing a psychiatrist.

IME using psychedelics for healing can be a very painful process and i have witnessed accounts of people going totally bonkers when they used and werent in the best time of their lives.

I have not used mescaline but I am failry expieriences with the 2c family which is another phen. These chemicals have been great tools for healing but i had to die first to be reborn.

i get ur point..maybe waiting a few years will do it..and tise years meaning a healthy lifestyle no drugs healthy diet excersice and good relationships family and friends might help with this if i ever fo it i will sure come back and post my expierence i do not think of lsd from what ive heard as a healer but peyote ont he other hand..seems like it

IMO, the intense, difficult experiences are more likely to heal or show you the way if you are in the proper environment. Remember that when you first did LSD, it was unintentional. That's an entirely different story than taking mescaline as a conscious decision to confront yourself.

Mostly, it's the ego dissolution (don't fight it!) that pushes you to be what you're comfortable with.

mescaline is hands down my favorite drug ever. Its way mellow. Like if Acid was speed mescaline would be opiates. i dont like acid at all but love the cacti.

yes i always thought peyote was entirely different than the rest of the pshychedelics like deeper but im not sure what the diff is between shrooms.dmt.lsd dont know the rest..

The PD Index would be a great place to get basic (and more advanced) knowledge, advice and trip reports on just about any psychedelic drug out there. Including peyote and other mescaline-containing cacti. Also, Erowid is an outstanding resource for just about every drug under the sun and very easy to get straight to the information you want :)

I've yet to sample mescaline myself but have a quantity of dry cactus that I intend to extract when the time is right. I think this summer may be that time. Feels like it's gonna be a good one.
