Peyote and San Pedro cacti

Hey there. I looked around the internet to find some info about this, but can't find sufficiently satisfactory information.

I would like to buy either some Peyote or San Pedro cacti, and consume them. However, I am a bit unsure on the best method to do it.
I would like to turn them into some sort of tea, or consume them in some other way that wouldn't require buying chemicals and stuff because I can't really afford it.

Would any cactus bought off the internet be ok for this use (meaning from any website etc.) or is there a particular type of peyote or san pedro cactus that I should look for? I mean, the important thing is not to poison myself. Even if I spend some money for some cacti that weren't that active, it's fine for me, as long as my immediate health is not put into danger.

Secondly, how do you consume it? How do you make tea out of it? And what's the recommended amount of cacti in order to get enough active ingredient?

Cheers

if your in the US then buying peyote wont be that easy

san pedro is very easy to get and can even be bought off ebay

if your interested in doing this you should do some basic research before starting a thread

San pedro is pretty easy to identify once you know what it looks like (I know shroomery has some good ID pics, use google). It's unlikely any cactus you buy at your local nursery will be harmful if ingested (though you should double check this).

As far as consuming it, the process involves cutting the cactus into thinnish discs. Some people put those into a blender, but I believe you can just boil them for several (6+) hours and the alkaloids will dissolve. Follow this by filtering the boiled stuff through several layers of cheese cloth, and you'll have a pot of alkaloid water. You can let this boil for a while longer to reduce it to a drinkable quantity. I've never done this myself, so maybe the blender step is necessary. Again, use google.

You need at least a 6" cutting of cactus.
