Harm Reduction Petroleum ether wash

Hello. I'm a big fan of washing my stash, and I have a bit of labratory petroleum ether on hand. Can anyone tell me a reason not to use it to wash my clear? I don't want to accidentally hurt myself. I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.
