Petroleum Ether Q&A

Where can I attain some Petroleum Ether? I read that chemical suppliers are the only real good deal, whereas Zippo fluid and other fluids are similar but not good enuff when it comes to working with 'morning glory seeds'
And to the mods, if this was the wrong forum to ask, I'm sorry but I dunno where else to post and wherever u move my post I'm fine with

automotive starter fluid is ether.. i think you have to do something to refine it tho..

look up the process on erowid they give some options for ether. i think its called naptha

I have read the Erowid FAQ for Morning Glory and the author states that for the best method of filteration for the seeds, petroleum ether is necessary and that things like naptha and diethyl ether are more volatile? That these fluids may actually destroy some of the acids in the seeds, reducing the final psychadelic effect and resulting in a poor batch.
So, once again, where can I get me some petroleum ether and if there are any substitutes that are full proof, please tell me with great detail and explanation. I'd like to be positive and without any doubt for this experiment.

Petroleum ether is not an ether, it is a mix of various hydrocarbons.
