i Have in front of me 10 x 50mg pethidine tablets.

Im unsure as yo how to go about taking them? ir. Doseage? Roa? and what the effects will be.

I have a high Opiate tolerance if which i have ingested the mamimum400mg Tramadol and a good200mg Diazepam.

An help. advice, experiences. do's/dont' greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can I have them?

Just kidding :P

Just take one or two and see how you feel, as the motto goes, you can always take more but never less!

Pethidine/meperidine is a lot more toxic than most opioids and can cause seizures, neurotoxicity and delirium at high doses. Definitely don't take them with tramadol or your risk of having a seizure is increased hugely.

Opioid conversion chart (meperidine = pethidine)

Take a look at this, but as Wooger said, you always want to start low. Personally I'd throw them away if you have a high opioid tolerance - the amount you would need to get high is almost definitely going to be in the toxic range. Not many people find them very euphoric, either - general consensus is not worth it at all (plus you really don't want to risk seizures and neurotoxicity...)

edit: Pally Pete, you're on venlafaxine aren't you? DO NOT take pethidine - it is a serotonergic opioid and there is a risk of serotonin syndrome which can kill, plus the risk of seizures is increased too. You shouldn't be taking tramadol with venlafaxine either for the same reasons, and the 3 together - please don't!!! It could be fatal.

Sorry about that.. better bin them than get serotonin syndrome/have a seizure though...

To bad there isn't an exchange system. So many would love to have their hands on Demerol if for nothing more than its rarity outside of hospital settings. I never had it, but it is the only opioid my grandmother can tolerate, and it helps her heaps with her migraines. She doesn't have a script, just gets it for an especially nasty headache in the ER every so often. It isn't a good choice as an analgesic for chronic pain, but it definitely has its place.

Let's not start planning an exchange system here or I'll have to infract you all for sourcing ;)

Hehe I know :D Or you'd have been infracted already ;)

^ they would be toxic to him as he is on venlafaxine and is talking about combining them with tramadol too.. and in recreational doses you are heading towards toxic territory anyway, for most people..

I think this thread has run its course so I am going to close it. If anyone has any queries shoot me a pm.
