Pet Peeves

People who act like they know about something, but it's obvious they are just bullshitting.
People who are OBVIOUSLY fake to your face. Like, you know they don't like you, and they know that you know they don't like you, and they still for some stupid reason try to be nice. It's a waste of time.
Amen to that.

people who whistle in public. it makes me wanna hand them a little package of crackers.

To RyanLaughlin bicyclists ride against traffic so they can see the traffic coming and don't get blindsided by a car coming up from behind. so if a car doesn't see you and you can't get them to make eye contact you can move. Its statistically safer, kinda like its statistically safer to ride in the road than the sidewalk, cause you can see cars pulling out of driveways better and see if any cars are coming around a sharp corner.

yeah... i understand the "reasoning," but guess what... like finder said... it's ILLEGAL. if you're on a bicycle you're considered to be operating a vehicle and therefore are subject to the same laws as that of someone in a car. if you're walking, running, jogging, etc. yes you go AGAINST traffic, if you're on a bicycle you go WITH traffic... it's not a matter of choice, it's the fucking LAW.

My single biggest pet peeve this year has been gas stations and convenience shops with incorrect pricing throughout a good deal of the store. This includes leaving up signs for special promotions after the sales are expired. Yes I tell the clerk he rings up the correct price for me usually, or worse says there's nothing he can do. Why after this has gone on for months sometimes doesn't someone take down the sign, reprogram the register, or change the shelf price.

Long nails-they really creep me out especially on guys
Oooooh I especially loathe men with an overgrown pinky nail ("coke finger"?). In southeast asia almost all men have them. I asked why and got several shrugs although a couple of them told me, with a straight face, that it was for conveniently picking ears...

lol

The coke kids around these parts used to grow their pinky nails for scooping from bags.

It was all part of a very tough thuggish look back in the day. The day being the late eighties in northern industrial New Jersey, USA.

Think bubble coats and 8-Ball jackets.

lol that could be a reason considering the atrocious habits that some of them have. But the explanation I got when I was living there is that it's usually men that work in offices that can grow their nail this long to 'gain face' in public by showing off the fact they don't work in a manual labor field.

oh man!!! I saw this girl yesterday with nails that literally were so long they started to curl under into a circle. It was so fucking gross. She was obviously also a crack whore so it just added to the dramatic effect.

Seriously though.

I have one major pet peeve:

I don't like when I hold the door open for one person to walk into a building behind me and like ten people try to slide by.

I am not the doorman. Oh, and I will let it go at some point assholes. Unless you are an old lady.

Being on the phone, walking and talking, does not give you the right to ignore my effort to be civil - *smash*

^Speaking of phones, that is another huge one of mine. I mean phones themselves.

I mentioned before that I hate it when phones ring. Well I still do. I hate talking on them. Most of all, I hate it when my cell phone rings outside in the street or around a crowd, when I can barely hear anything. In fact, I only ever owned a cellphone in Asia, and that is for work. Otherwise, the land-line does enough damage already!!

A related pet peeve of mine is actually watching people multitask while talking on their phones. What's even worse is being on a coversation both on the phone and with the other person. Nothing says "I'm listening" better than talking on the phone 8(

ps. LM, that explanation actually makes lots of sense.

I hate people that have conversations in public that should be private on their cell phones. Usually these people talk loud as fuck too so everyone in the world can hear them.

I try not to talk on my cell at all when I'm in public and if I do I try to make it quick and painless for those around me. I also keep my cellphone on vibrate so no one has to hear any annoying ring tones.

I'm the same way. I dunno if it's more of a pet peeve or a social phobia personally, but I just can't stand to talk on the phone when other people are around me. I always have to go into another room or keep conversation to a minimum.

not being able to dial long distance off the call display of a landline phone!
is there a solution to this?
with my cell, i don't have to dial the "1".
but on my landline if i just hit dial off the display, it won't connect.
i have to write the number down and manually dial it.
gahhh :!
press 1 then hit dial.....geeze.

adding to the phone peeves, i hate when people use their cellphones as a fucking radio. it's even worse when it's on the train/bus b/c there are signs posted all over saying that playing loud music is prohibited yet they do it anyway! i was || <~ that close to bitching out some guy on the train last night b/c he kept playing these wack ass songs (shitty commercial rap, reggaeton and some other spanish pop/rap music) on his phone. i had my ipod on and i could still hear his music over mine :X

the lady sitting next to him looked pissed off too. that is until he yelled out "those bitches were blazing it! hahahahaha. eh, homie. those 3 heinas were blazing, dog." and everyone started laughing.

I haven't seen one in a while but those nextel phones that ppl use as walkie talkies annoy the piss out of me--the whole world does not need to hear your whole conversation!

And I'm with Noodle on the door holding thing lol some ppl. Also when I hold the door open for someone and they dont even say 'thank you' how rude!

I didn't realize whistling bothered so many people. I do it at work sometimes. :(

But w/e, I have to put up with their shit too.

Thats an ironic statement, being on this particular website and all :p

Going back to the driving things, I dont know why, its not like its even that big of a deal, but I absolutly HATE it when people leave their blinkers on for miles and miles.

  • Dirty fingernails/Those creepy long fingernails
  • When people use perfume or stronly scented lotions at work. I hate smells and I especially hate when I cant escape them
  • People who let their kids play on a main street. I see this all the time and its so unsafe...drives me crazy
  • Greasy hair
  • Body odors. Is it that hard to shower or use deodorant
  • People who live their blinkers on...go below the speed limit...when you get someone go and the person behind them thinks they can piggyback...I hate most drivers around here (Boston)
  • When someone is fake to your face then talks about you. why talk to me in the first place??
  • Dark haired people who go blonde then dont take care of their roots.

I have more...Ill be back!
