Just saying the internet felt like the last free voyage, you could cuss to all hell, do whatever, guess you still can it just... idk i might be being just a tad dramatic but it feels a bit like the last days of true free (expression) on the net..
 
I'm a chronic offender on homonyms including the their and your families. In the interest of bugging people a little less I may look into how to remove them from my spell check so that they get flagged and I have to think about them.
 
^As a brother drunkard I've done that a wee bit to much myself. I've started remembering to use the timer on the microwave though so it is happening less. I wish my cell phone had an easy countdown timer for that and a few other situations.

If you did the latter option, I'd choose option two. Seems like it'd be the least painful.

Yes - in adding 248 transitions, I was rapid-fire dragging and dropping them between the slides in "storyboard" format and not timeline format. As I was doing this, there was no visible indication that the slides were being moved out of sync wit the music.

I now know to subtract the length of the transitions from the length of the slide duration in order to get the "true" slide duration when I plan to sync the slides with audio.

Yes. At the very least, I should have saved the project before adding the transitions and then double checked AFEr adding the transitions but before saving again. The problem is, after adding the transitions, I said to myself, "I'd better save this fast before something bad happens!" And in doing so, I did not "save as" with a new title or number, so it saved over the existing project.

As it happens, it mattered not in this case because I still would have had to redo the entire thing anyway. Once I incorrectly had the "true slide duration" set to the wrong number, I was screwed.

But upon re-doing the project, I did click "save as" and saved 23 different versions :)

My mom loved the gift, so it was all worth it in the end.

Why do you have an apostrophe after "lounge" instead of a quotation mark?

No, you are correct. The meme should use the word "contraction" and not "abbreviation."

On a related note, people do often misuse the terms "abbreviation," and "acronym."

I suppose technically a contraction could be referred to as an abbreviation (since abbreviation is such a broad term), but "contraction" is more precise and accurate.

What bugs me is when people refer to something like "FBI" as an acronym. as acronym MUST be pronounced as a word, otherwise you merely have an "initialism."

According to Dictionary.com, an acronym is also an initialism, so "FBI," CIA," and "NATO" are all initialisms, but only "NATO" is an acronym.

All of them could probably be described as abbreviations.
 
I get pretty annoyed when people write anything off (be it music, movies, art, etc.) because it's "mainstream." I hear it all the time in real life and read it all the time on the internet. I fully understand that being mainstream doesn't mean it's automatically good, but it also doesn't mean that it's automatically bad. Some people really let popular (or unpopular) decision form their opinions. That, to me, is quite the antithesis of what they think they stand for. I don't care if a billion people hate a song I love to death and I certainly don't care if a billion people love a song I love.

I don't care what ANYONE SAYS!!! I bought the Paris Hilton cd the day it dropped. Everyone makes fun of me, but guess what. The album is produced by Scott Storch. Haters gonna hate, but Scott Storch used to be the keyboardist for The Roots. A group most of my Paris Hilton haters seem to dig. Fuck em!

I've heard about a FF addon called tubestop that's supposed to stop in-video adds. No idea if it works as I've never seen an advert in a youtube video so haven't used it.

I'm sure there's plenty of tools out there to can each new type of ad as it arises.
 
They have to pay for streaming costs somehow. I was always amazed they didn't have preroll ads in the past.
 
Sigh guess ur right, it just irritated me when one day suddenly im being sold some corporate crap when it was all free music and vid..

I haven't seen that tape either but I am sure it's much more entertaining than her music CD. There are things I'd like her to do with her mouth but singing isn't one of them.
