Pet Peeves v. 5.0

The person I live with decided to take the evening off work. This is not a minor annoyance when I had plans to do things outside of my room. I rarely use stupid smilies but this one describes how I feel better than words: :!

Well, it's almost December 25th so It is time for my annual pet peeve:

Christmas.

If I hear one more stupid Christmas song I might shoot myself in the face.
I hope the people who wrote these godawful things get hit by a falling Christmas tree.

Merry Fucking Christmas.

^ zomg. we used to live near a park that would play that damn Snoopy song on repeat during the Yuletide season beginning at the crack of dawn on Sundays no less.

Merry Christmas to you, Fjones! <3

So really, your peeve is about weather?? ;)

Sorry, not trying to make light of your situation because it absolutely SUCKS!!
I've heard heaps about the flight delays and cancellations as well but I'm sure there's a good reason for it...even though 5 inches of snow sounds ridiculous.

And hey, would you prefer to be on the ground waiting and safe, or up in the air on a plane whose gear is still frozen and fails or something??

Hope you get home as soon as humanly possible <3

I made it home finally. I guess I'm biased cos I'm from New England where we get 3 feet of snow and the next day everything is completely fine. So I found the way London deals with snow a lil ridiculous. Even in continental Europe where they get snow every year people were freaking out about it, you'd think they'd get used to it and find a way to deal with it?

And badandwicked that does make me feel a bit better haha.

Oh man. If I ever find encounter the person or people who are responsible for Windows Movie Maker, there will be hell to pay.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE !????????

I spent hours working on a movie project. The project is composed of 248 slides and 20 truncated mp3 song files. Everything was aligned perfectly with the music aligned with specific slides, and the total length of the slides equaling the total length of the soundtrack.

Then I added a transition between each slide.

THE PROGRAM SHORTENED THE VIDEO PORTION OF THE MOVIE BY 7 MINUTES!!!!

The soundtrack remained the same length. The project is ruined.

WHY THE FUCK would adding transitions CHANGE THE DURATION OF THE SLIDES !??????? What fucking MORON said, "I know, let's ensure that adding transitions (which are obviously going to be done LAST) COMPLETELY misaligns the timing of the entire presentation" !?????????

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT !??????????

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY !???????????

Now I have four lousy choices:

1)Start over, using mathematics to alter the default length of the display time for slides and transitions so that when I import them, the net result will be the same as the original timing before I added the transitions, This will require manually adding all 248 transitions again.

2) Manually "stretch" the slide pane for each of the 248 slides back to the original length of time,

3) Redo the presentation without transitions.

To the makers of windows movie maker - I HATE YOU!! I would not ruin an expensive suit to save you if you were drowning !!!!!!!!!!

^ I am not well-versed in Windows Movie Maker at. all. so sorry if this is a stupid question: Couldn't you have just hit "undo"? Or did you do each slide individually and not notice the the duration of the video had changed until you were done with all the slides?

If you did the latter option, I'd choose option two. Seems like it'd be the least painful.

Good luck getting it done. I feel your pain with video-making software not doing what you want.

^ yep, very frustrating. still, there's a silver lining - this is a good lesson in saving your work regularly to avoid frustration and to ensure this kind of thing only happens once at most.

I would have to say that spelling and grammar errors top the list for me.

Specifically:there, they're and their and plural possessives

"we will see you over their" incorrect

"there on the way over now" incorrect

"they're pretty good, and hit you quick" correct

"the teachers' lounge' correct

"the team's record" correct

"employee's must wash hands" incorrect

"caboosers' mild panic attacks over pet peeve's" incorrect, yet the content rings true.

Merry Christmas from my first post.

lol Good first post. :D There have been several times where I have been so tempted to edit peoples grammar, but I don't think people would really appreciate having their posts edited over such a trivial manner, so I do my best to just look away. ;)

Commercials on the internets spec. YouTube

If anyone has been using youtube back in like 2005-2006 there were no commercials, even the next few years it seems like it musta been 2009 2010 they started adding fucking commcerials before a lot of the vids. Also the VEVO crap.
Its like can 1 fucking thing not be adultarated with commcerials and ads for dumbass shit?

I realize in some ways you tube has become a little better but is it worth it? I mean yeah you can turn the volume down during the commercial but still SHIT!?!?
