Peruvian Torch Hangover Lethargy Help

Hey everyone. I have taken some Peruvian torch on a few occasions just to get a feel for the effects and every time I do For the next few days I feel unmotivated and less intelligent. I read someone saying that it is because of on increase in MAO enzymes that your body produces to counter act the alkaloids. So I took a little deprenyl the next day and still felt lethargic and not happy. I am wondering if this is an indirect effect of the mescaline or some alkaloids in the plant. I will be extracting it to get some pure mescaline and see if there is any hang over. Has anyone here experienced the same thing? Has any one taken the whole plant and the pure mescaline and noticed a big difference in effects in the proceeding days?

Feeling mentally and physically drained sounds normal. It's a long and eventful experience. My second san pedro trip was yesterday, it lasted eighteen hours, and today, I'm buggered. Went to a shopping centre and couldn't stand it, everything was so overwhelming. I'd much rather lie down and relax.

Feeling less intelligent is a little strange. It made me feel MORE intelligent. My mind became efficiently analytical in a unique and primal way, truly magical. It sounds like it's just a hangover... I get fairly nasty hangovers from acid, but a lot of people only report an afterglow. *shrug* If it's a serious problem, you may want to consider whether this is the substance for you, though it would be a shame if you decide it isn't, it really is beautiful. I just recommend bed rest and making sure you have a few days set aside.

I'd have to think eating plant vs. taking an extract would be a big difference. You're still going to get a mix of alkaloids from an extract, but that doesn't matter if the plant material is what gets you. I sure as hell wouldn't eat the plain cactus. If your head is still messed up from an extract (make sure you do it right, these procedures can be lengthy), maybe try out adding piracetam early the day of as a preload and then the next day. There are other nootropic-type supplements you can try out too, look at one of the nootropic threads.
