This effect seems more drastic than it is, because cannabis dulls short term memory, and since dreams are things that are easily forgotten in any case, this can give the impression that no dreams ever took place.
OP, you won't be permanently high. But it might take you 3-6 weeks to feel fully detoxed.
THC itself, and other cannabinoids, don't linger in your system more than a few hours. They're broken down into simpler, non psychoactive compounds, after that time. Those metabolites that are still highly fat soluble will be what lingers in the flab of chronic stoners, and causes them to fail drug tests as much as a month after quitting.
