permanently high?

I smoke probably 10-20 times a day.... I can't say I feel non-high when I'm completely sober, but it is not uncommon (like for now) to be quite high from last night (liquid thc is a killer). BUT, on two occasions I have been sober, gotten a full body massage, and been quite high after the massage.

sort of.

the literature i've seen does indicate that marijuana reduces REM sleep. however, the REM phase is the very opposite of "deep sleep" -- it's the most active part of the sleep cycle. the "deep sleep" you're talking about occurs during Phase 4, and is actually increased following the use of marijuana.

so you're correct that marijuana can have a negative impact on sleep (residual THC adds to the "weed hangover" affect as well), but your science leaves something to be desired.

absolutely not.

I have had probably 3 recollectable dreams in the past ~300 nights of going to bed around 10/10 high. I feel that I still dream, and still dreamtalk actually, but I never have memory of the dream during or after. I used to be able to remember dreams quite well before becoming an ultra-user of marijuana.

i've been smoking weed daily at least 3 times a day, if not more, and only find myself "sober" when i run out...which is rare.........but now i've been slowing down a tad from it but it seems that i'm not completely sober even though i havent smoked for three days.......has anyone else experienced this before? can anyone help?

i've read somewhere about a guy who took 40000 ecstasy pills in a 9 year period and he said that months after he quit he still felt like he was rolling........could weed have the same effect?
It's called reality son lol "How High"

40000 x pills would make you retarded. You can't smoke too much weed though.

double ewe is correct. Marijuana shortens REM sleep cycles, but doesn't eliminate them. You'd die in a couple of weeks without any REM sleep at all.

This effect seems more drastic than it is, because cannabis dulls short term memory, and since dreams are things that are easily forgotten in any case, this can give the impression that no dreams ever took place.

OP, you won't be permanently high. But it might take you 3-6 weeks to feel fully detoxed.

THC itself, and other cannabinoids, don't linger in your system more than a few hours. They're broken down into simpler, non psychoactive compounds, after that time. Those metabolites that are still highly fat soluble will be what lingers in the flab of chronic stoners, and causes them to fail drug tests as much as a month after quitting.

so what is it thats causing me to be in this sort of daze? if they're non psychoactive than why do i still feel unsober?

just wondering

yeah man, I know what you're talking about. my mates and I call it the afterburn, and i get it after a heavy weekend, but after a few days it usually fades.

Ecstasy messes with your natural neurotransmitter balance while weed doesn't have any DIRECT effect on neurotransmitters but binds to certain receptors like opiates do. So the answer is no.

Well, your brain does adjust to the presence of a drug over long periods of time, in terms of levels of activity in various parts, receptor density, etc. Now it's got to readjust to its absence.

I've been having a similar problem, going clean for the first time in over a year has been odd. I get the impression my head's getting clearer though.

...give it a few more weeks clean

and then you'll look back on this and laugh like "hahaha...meh"

I feel almost a dissociated feeling like coming down from ketamine sometimes after a few days of smoking some potent indica.
