Opioids Permanent Rapid Detox With Naltrexone?

I was under the impression from reading some other threads that when one takes naltrexone, the opiates to which they are addicted are only temporarily removed from the receptors, causing precipitated withdrawals only for a few hours. At that point the opiates could reattach, like they do not actually evacuate the body, they just go somewhere else.

Something about this just bothers me.

Naloxone (Narcan) is short lasting, and only temporarily causes precipitated withdrawal syndrome. It is used in opioid overdoses the world over; for many people, multiple doses will need to be given over the course of several hours (until the opioid ingested and overdosed on is metabolised enough to not cause respiratory depression and other shit side effects).

Naltrexone is a long lasting mu-antagonist. Completely different drug with a different profile. It is often used for UROD and ROD (ultra rapid and rapid opioid detox), and as a post-detox medication to prevent relapse.

YES! They only temporarily get displaced. Naltrexone will not speed up detox.

Naltexone is used in rapid detox for opiates...hence the word rapi. If it didn't speed it up, or slowed it down, I think they would choose a different word. Or maybe leave the word rapid off lol/
