I'm alive so I guess I'll survive
I've been studying a little on an anti-histamine that I use for sleep occasionally, periactin.

It's said that it can be used for serotonin syndrome, it apparently stops or slows down serotonin production.

Would that mean its not good to use to help me sleep the next day after an MDMA binge, would I throw all that loading (ie bananas, 5-htp) out the window?

Or would it help in storing more untill the periactin wore off?

Honestly serotonin itself has little to do with post-roll negative side effects. The damage from MDMA (ab)use occurs to the receptors the serotonin binds to (the SERT's)

I would try some bananas and milk or L-tryptophan supplements COMBINED with complex carbohydrates, B vitamins, sunlight exposure, AND exercise. This is far more likely to help your brain recover to the pre-roll state it was in before.

Also - I would strongly advise against MDMA binging. MDMA is not meant to be abused like cocaine, methamphetamine, and to some extent even MDPV and mephedrone. Re-dosing after the peak is extremely hard on the brain.

Binging to me these days is only re-dosing, usually half of what I had earlier an hour from first peak. Thing is too, I haven't been getting on the flippers for ages, due to the crap that was getting sold over the last few years.

I know about bannanas and and the supplements you mentioned, but usually need something to help me sleep, just curious if the periactin is actually making it a more prolonged comedown, due to its serotonin production (or un-production).

I'd say most of the negative effects are caused by the damage done to the SERT's. Although having less serotonin available cor reuptake by the transporters doesn't sound like a good thing though. Not to sure about the effects of the drug you mentioned I'm guessing you want to use it as a sleep aid? I strongly recommend xanax after rolling for sleep. In fact when I am tired but still "high" but no longer peaking, I sometimes take xanax because it basically kills the rest of the roll and makes you sleepy. I believe xanax blocks MDMA from binding with the SERt's

I can't imagine it would be terribly damaging to serotonin levels after rolling. I believe I read once serotonin levels actually remain very high after a roll due to the damage done to the re-uptake system. Then again I am no doctor or pharmacologist.

Perhaps you may get a better answer from the Advanced Drug Discussion forum? I believe their might be someone studying advanced pharmacology that can shed some insight.
