Misc Perhaps using Seroquel to come down from Meth isn't such a safe/good idea?

Well my typical weekly use of meth consists of 2-3 day binges, nothing too extreme like a 7+ but still I know it's not healthy, but a lot of things aren't healthy. I have a diagnoses of bipolar disorder and I am prescribed 300mg of the anti-psychotic medication Seroquel, nightly. Well, I only use those to come down from meth usually, and even my seroquel tolerance is outrageous, high or sober it takes roughly 900mg of Seroquel to make me drift off.

I have noticed though, when the Seroquel finally hits me, it hits like a ton of bricks and literally starts shutting my brain off. I have noticed when the the quells are hitting hard and let's say I stand up to go take a piss, or get a glass of water I get intense feelings like I am going to faint. This morning, the quell was flooding my system so the meth residual high was completely gone. Halfway to the kitchen I felt like I was going to pass out, so I sat down on the floor immediately to let that feeling pass. Has anyone experienced this when they decided to eat some Quell or any other antipsychotic in the same family to come off a meth run?

** I would hate to no longer be able to use the it for the crash because it does wonders for curing the induced psychosis that goes with sleep dep and meth use but that feeling it gives me when it kicks makes me sick to my stomach

Lol yeah man, that all sounds about right and is nothing to be concerned about. Perhaps you have seen one of my many seroquel posts here, im a big fan, excellent backup to have on hand for anybody with anxiety, ptsd etc issues, if worst comes to worst its there to end the situation, not gracefully, but reliably.

In any cause i use it exactly like you do, for avoiding the comedown with 2-3 day meth binges, man, works like a charm.

To explain your experience.

1. Seroquel stops the action of the drug, rather fast, what this means is that you return to the natural state without the drug, and of course this state is a weak abused body with 3 days of no sleep or food lol. So yes, you will feel that shit hit you without stim protection. So yeah feeling shit when it hits, normal, convert to sleep asap

2. Part of the above, but worthy of note, as you said, i remember taking it in a comedown, the feeling of falling unconscious is unpleasant, feels bad, and you want to fight it, this is the powerful sedative combined with no sleep. Try to take it during the high, not when the comedown hits, anxiety combined with a feeling of falling into a coma, not a good combo. Anyways, take it only when in bed and ready to pass the fuck out. So yeah this is normal as well. Its an unpleasent moment from hitting you to sleep, but worth it, i distract myself by watching a movie while i cross over

3. Lastly, take it when ready to sleep only, it has a big impact on lowering blood pressure, seemingly made worse by the state you are in when you would take it for stims. Just the other day, thought it wise to get a snack, almost KO'ed infront of unknowing witnesses. This also happens sometimes to some people when using it normally. Basically dont plan to do anything when you take it, i also take half my nightly dose for meth, seems wierd to use less for a bigger problem, but meth is no threat, but your weakend physical state may need a lower dose. 150mg perfect.

So yeah, how you feel is normal, just keep some of those points in mind. I say its far better then disgusing a comedown with other drugs, where its still going to be tough on your body and mind, seems far better to simply hit the off button. So feel free to use it again for this, its basically doing what it was made for, resetting problem chemical levels, like often happens with psychosis, only now its meth who has overstayed his welcome.

Just to note, surprised about your tolerance, i have used 300 daily for ages without any change, i also thought due to the nature of the drug, there where no tolerance or addiction issues. Im sure you are happy about the recent price drops as well, hit was mad expensive.

I used to be on that stuff and i hated it. like you mentioned it caused me blackouts and fainting. I fell thru a stack of storm windows once while i was passing out. i dont like that stuff or recomend it for comedowns..or anything really. tis a bad drug imo

^word, though it's easier said then done. Nowadays I only fuck with adderall or dexadrine when I can get it, but I make sure to never dose more than two time in a day. When I would binge around the clock with amphetamines, coke or MDPV, there would really be nothing to soften the blow from that come down. I've mentioned this before, but when I got my hands on a gram of MDPV, before it was illegalitized, I spent five days shooting and smoking that garbage 24/7. So I got the bright idea to order some phenazepam so that I could knock myself out. I assumed this would help me avoid a psychotic episode but in the end it just aided in what turned into a full blown episode of stimulant psychosis. The phenazepam actually ended up doing the opposite of what I had intended (it made me more manic) and trying to control my body like that was insanely unhealthy. Also, even after I ran out of the PV, and was left just with the phenazepam, I noticed that even when using large dosages of phenazepam I still was completely miserable for weeks. It was truly a horrible month.

The best thing you can do for yourself when you're tweaking is make sure you get sleep every night. If you make this a priority above your desire to keep redosing, you will find success.

Other tips:
-Chelated Magnesium
-Eating something of substance like a sandwich
-Vitamins & supplements
-Proper hydration, electrolyte imbalance (I'd recommend drinking a 32oz gatorade)
-Hot shower before bed.
-If you can't sleep, just try to get comfortable and relax.
-When you take drugs for the comedown, don't just wait for them to knock you the fuck out, as if all of a sudden a Xanax or whatever has major tranquilizer powers, you need to let these medications do their job by doing the above and trying to actually fall asleep, this is where the medications will help.

I bring that up because I know tons of people who tweak then do various drugs on their comedown (opiates, minor tranquilizers like benzodiazepines etc, major tranquilizers like thorazine etc) and expect for the downers to just knock them the fuck out as if they'd been hit by a tranq gun, and they just wait around for it to hit, and it never does, because you have to work with the medications.

Most of them (with the exception of the major tranquilizers/neuroleptics) can't KO you, even if you take a bunch of benzodiazepines, if you aren't trying to lay down with your eyes closed, the chances of them knocking a person out are slim to none, especially when it has to fight methamphetamine.

Seroquel is definitely the hero that kills off the shadow peopke and quells my mind, but yeah after your reply it makes since. I hit 5 days awake onc, and will never go there again. I started having very vivid visual and tactile hallucinations. I started seeing locusts crawling on my arms and they were leaving marks, my friend was telling me im trippin balls and that made my hallucinations worse, then I started seeing rising cigarette smoke around me, plus was hearing soft ambient music play, that wasnt really playing. By that time I said enough!. I searched like a manic in a frenzy for my seroquel bottle, finally found it, took out 900mg and chewed tbose 3 horse pilks up as fast as I could. I was so terrified if I could have shot up the quell I would have. I went to go take a shower and was watching my shampoo bottles move around. My buddy sat on the toilet seat in the bathroom while I showered in case the seroquel kicked in, he wanted to make sure I wouldnt drown if it knocked me.out. I felt my eyes gettin heavy and thoughts slowed waaaay down and the psychosis started to faded so I got out and hurried to my bed before I collapsed. Woke up normal, 27 hrs...later. If I was schizophrenic and experienced this kinda shit completely SOBER I would kill myself.

And yes.i love the price drop. A 30 day script for went from $40 down to $10.
