Free to spill your thoughts,
because you're confident in skill.
still.. you have your doubts,
like any human.
You tackle these bouts, fight to the death,
but always escape with a win, the thin narrow gap..
barely enough for you.
you're in control, of your mind and your soul.
nothing can bring you down..
not even the frowns of your wife in her gown.
you know you'll bounce back,
resilience, in fact. is what gives you your unique touch.
but don't bear it as a crutch.
no one is perfect.

Keep ahead, instead.
it's better to remain unscathed.
your competition bathed in failure, mail your resume to the gods.
you can become one as well.
just don't allow that idea to become your hell.

just remain true, to your perfect mind.
it's a sign you can overcome.
but don't be dumb.
you don't need to be numb.
break out of your shell to show the world.
unfurled you can conquer anything.

much of this is based off a conversation i had a few years ago.
tho i didnt really notice until iu had finished writing it.. imperfection, and accepting it. is a single step towards perfection.. somehow.
