Percocets/Tattoo

For me, the pain of getting inked is part of the experience. It really doesn't hurt that much and I find it strangely exhillerating. Sober is the only way to go for me, but I guess everyone is different. I wouldn't think that opiates would help much as they don't do much for sharp pain that is ongoing.

As an aside, if I truly could not stand the pain of the procedure I think I would go for something like Ketamine. A good dose of K would dissociate you from the pain. I would think that would be much more effective than an opiate.

I've never heard of a tattoo artist recommending any drug for the pain. Most I have come in contact with prefer their subjects to be sober.

Just because he recomends taking pain killers doesn't make him a bad tattoo artist. Hell, when I got my first tattoo I wasn't the one taking the OC's, the artist was!

I wasn't saying that if an artist recommended pain killers they are a bad tattoo artist, I was just saying that I've never heard one do it. Putting shitty tattoos on people makes a tattoo artist a bad one.

OK this thread has be me rethinking things.

Not about not being a pussy or anything,
but just about the whole experience of it all.
I'm thinking that maybe iI should just get it done sober.

I for one took a Dilaudid before getting my navel pierced - wouldn't condone this activity tho :)

I took it because i am a great big pussy and FYI it did NOT completely get rid of the pain - next time I'll skip it. It was quick anyway.

Only had access because my friend offered me one at the time anyway.
