Percocet ruined St John Wort anti-depressant effect

I was taking SJW for a month and it was giving me supreme anti-depressant effects. I took a percocet to relax one night after a long day with no sleep. The next day I was basically hypomanic for 48 hours. For the last 5 days I've been really fucking depressed and when I take the SJW it gives me that typical SSRI numbing effect. It feels like my synapses are 'roadblocked'.

I am wondering if I should just keep taking the SJW and see if things rebalance, or if it's better to abstain from everything for a while and try restarting, hopefully achieving some rebalancing during the abstention.

I would go with that. Reaching homeostasis is never a bad idea.

you know how people take tagamet to block your h2 recpetor or which ever receptor it is? well if u dont basically its an antacid that blocks a receptor in your body that metabolizes opiates so when u take it it makes your opiates last longer.

well st.johns wart increases it so most opiates including oxy is going to be only half as effective as normal. i found this out after taking both for a long time. after i stopped the st. johns my tolerance when way down.

more people need to know this.

No. Just No.

1.) Enzymes metabolize drugs.

2.) Tagamet has nothing to do with anything here.

3.) St. Johns Wort does nothing to tolerance. It effects the metabolism of certain opiates from creating more potent metabolites.

To the OP St. Johns Wort is going to numb you anyway.

umm do a little research before u spread around ur false bullshit http://www.healthcentral.com/chronic-pain/c/5949/118973/effectiveness/
and im sure every dope head on this website can tell u tagamet inreases duration.. look up any opiate potentiation thread itll be the first thing anyone suggests.

and ya ur right its the CYP450 liver enzymes i said i wasnt really sure who gives a fuck about stuff like that anyways

and by tolerance i meant i was getting high off less after i stopped the st johns so for me yes my tolerance dropped but only because it was being raised by something in the first place. i know it not regular tolerance but i think u kno what i mean and ur just being a prick.

I said nothing false.

I simply said tagamet has nothing to do with the subject at hand. You proved nothing to anyone just now.

Somebody’s in withdrawal........ :\

I used to have drug-induced bipolar disorder. IME it takes approximately a week to recover from a hypomanic episode. I'd agree with laying off drugs for a while and giving yourself more time to recover.

Good link. Ive read about that before and experienced some cool and not so cool things with liver enzymes, certain drugs and food and what not. Very interesting. There is a CYP liver enzyme thread on here, I think its called something like "Beyond CYP" or something.

Is tagamet a prescription drug? I looked it up and couldn't find a way to get it at the store.....I tried Quinine with Oxycodone once and made 10mg last 8 hours :O that was insssannneee haha.

That's because it's a heart burn med! You're looking in the wrong section. Doesn't change the high like an antihistamine can, just theoretically extends it through enzyme inhibition.
