Percocet question

Morning BlueLight, so at some Fourth of July fireworks yesterday I snorted half a perc 30mg I got. I have only used percocet once or twice before so my tolerance was pretty low. I got pretty high from snorting the first half.

After the fireworks I got home and swallowed the second half and nothing happened. As of now, it's been three hours. I mean I feel tired and vacant but that's because I'm not usually up this late, but I suppose it could be the pill.

It should be noted that I'm on 20mg Prozac daily. So I'm curious, could the Prozac inhibit the indigestion of the pill, or would I have built a tolerance between the two hour gap between snorting the first half and swallowing the second?

1) There is no such thing as percocet 30mg. Further, there are no Pill IDs allowed - so, "Mods, I'm not sure if I (or anyone) can tell him/her what it is they are probably/most likely referring to... though it's pretty damn obvious and is an extraordinarily common 'mistake'." (<-- lmk!)

2) If what you did take WAS percocet why would you decide to snort it? Or, in other words - are you aware that percocet (which this was NOT... as percocet comes only in much lower doses) contains APAP and shouldn't be insufflated? Your nostrils will hate you if you do (esp repetitively).

3) Prozac should have little to no effect. However, regarding THIS issue - wait for other responses. If this gets closed for whatever reason, ask about the prozac + opiate combo separately as it's a reasonable question.

**Swallowing the pill has a completely different feel than snorting. Snorting gives you a quicker onset, and shorter lasting high. There is a more notable 'come up' and MAYBE a 'rush' of sorts. Swallowing take a bit longer to be noticed (for the high to come) and lasts a lot longer. There is less of a 'come on', and pretty much no rush. BA is ~ 100% while insufflating is much lower (check out the megathread ;)).
 
When you snort a drug it hits you pretty quickly so if we call the peak '100' you went from 0-100 in a matter of minutes. Then say you took the rest of the *oxycodone* an hour or so later orally... You already had oxy in your blood so Instead of going from 0-100 in a few minutes, you went from like 50-100 gradually over ~40 minutes or so. Obviously that being a smaller change *and* being more gradually, the effects are going to be far less pronounced.

These numbers are largely bullshit but hopefully you get the idea I'm trying to convey. Many people find redosing opioids largely worthless regardless of route of administration and you can probably see why now. Tolerance acquisition takes considerably more time then the gap between the 2 doses you took so it is certainly not tachyphylaxis.

Regarding the combination of fluoxetine and oxycodone, the former does not affect the digestion of the latter. Oxycodone isn't serotonergic and there shouldn't be any real interaction that would affect the high. You can find more information on the combo by using one of many drug interaction checkers out there.

Redosing oxy sucks..... I try to dose once a day.. if you want to try to get fucked up later.. go for it but do a little bit more than what you did before so it will hit.
 
In the north east Oxycodone IR 30's are referred to as "perc 30's". I know this is technically wrong but when people come on these forums and there from the North East US....thats what they mean if they say perc 30.

It's just what people call them around here. If you ask people for "roxi" they don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about.

I've tried explaining to a few people why calling Oxycodone IR 30's perc 30's is wrong and why they should stop calling them that and start referring to them as either oxy or roxi, but it never catches on.

I love it. I also like the fact I can tell my friends who are 100% anti-heroin and think only the biggest scumbag junkies use heroin, and tell them I am absolutely ripped on Morphine Diacetate and they go "sweet man can u share any?!". lol.
 
Don't snort percocet, you waste so much, and it's so little oxycodone for so much powder. Just take some tums 10 mins before the percs and swallow away!

I live in the northeast & never heard anyone call oxycodone's percs.
