I don't normally take pills for fear of addiction. However, I am in immense amounts of pain from having two shattered shoulders that I obtained while surfing.
I got a script of 5mg Percocet and I was wondering what would be a good level to help elleviate the pain and give me a nice mellow euphoric buzz.
Thus far I have only taken one 5mg last night and it only helped the pain a little bit. That was the first time I've ever had a Percocet in my life and it didn't make me high in the slightest.

This is what I'm wanting to know: How much should I take? How should I take them? How long does it take to kick in? And if I only do it once, am I risking getting hooked?

How much are you prescribed to take? Since you are in pain you might only just get rid of the pain, feel sleepy, and not get euphoria. That's what happened to me when I was prescribed low doses of opiates for severely impacted wisdom teeth removal.

Take the pills in the dosage as prescribed and don't take more than 10mg. Yes some people do get addicted to prescribed opiates, stay safe, and I hope you heal fast.

The first time I was prescribed Percocet was when I needed nasal surgery. The pain was awful still. What I ended up doing was also using ibuprofen to help with the throbbing. I didn't get addicted to the pills though I did wish that I had more when they ran out.

Take 15mg to start will slow you down but not retarted slow I love pill cruising and they can make you last in bed ALOT longer but start at that mg but don't go over 80mg a day unless you think you can. Listin to your body

When it comes to percs def listen to your Body, you can always take more but you can't take less if that makes sense to you. Also if they are 5 / 325 thats means they are cut with Tylenol and you don't want to over do it on Tylenol due to its affects on your liver. If they are straight up 5mg percs not 5/325 and you did 1 and it didnt help, take 2 and wait 30 minutes. If your still in pain take 3, but if your not used to pills I wouldn't go over three 5mg every 4 hours or so. I'm a Right leg below knee Amputee and have been on everything under the sun so I know pain and feel for you... Like I said and others here said listen to your body, take 1 wait take 2 wait 30 min take 3 etc etc - If they are cut with Tylenol like I said (5/325) and your taking more then prescribed call your Dr and let them know so they can give you 10/325 or ask them to give you something without Tylenol. Hope some of this helped

Opioids/opiates are extremely addictive, most people get hooked from a legit prescription through an injury. Not trying to scare you just saying be careful. Try and not rely on them. If you're in legit pain it may be hard to get a buzz from them.
