So to start things off, I've never tried a real opiate(besides codeine) until now. I injured my back pretty badly on thursday, and at the hospital they told me it was a pulled muscle and prescribed me some 5/325 percs. First night I took 2, was still in a lot of pain so took another, and ended up throwing up.

On friday I only took 1 in the morning, but it made me throw up again. I took another later that night with gravol and didn't throw up. I woke up today feeling super nauseous. I haven't even taken a perc yet, because I've already thrown up three times and I know the perc will make it worse. This means i'm in a ton of pain right now. I've never had a problem with tylenol before, so I'm not sure why the percs are making me this nauseous. Does anyone have any advice? I ate a bunch of bread this morning but it didn't help at all. Neither did gravol.

They're making you nauseous because you're a noob (and I mean that in a nice way).

That's what opiates do. Although you seem to be more sensitive to that particular effect.

Try taking some more Gravol or Benadryl. And DON'T take them on an empty stomach, or you'll definitely be nauseous.

Eat a full meal, wait 10 minutes and then take 1 at a time. Try spacing the dosage apart by 30 minute intervals. Since you never did a real Opiate before (Codeine doesn't count, in my book) you're body is probably rejecting the Oxycodone. So instead, take one on a full stomach and see how it makes you feel. That's the best advice you're gonna get, honestly.

If you can't handle the entire pill break it in half and take a half every 45 minutes or so until you feel relief. Eventually your tolerance should grow and this will no longer be a problem.

_However_

Some people do not tolerate certain opiates as well as others. If you continue having problems keeping these down, go back to your doctor and ask to be put on something else. They will most likely switch you over to hydrocodone (IME with people that can't tolerate oxycodone) or something else. Just keep working with your doctor until you find something that works for you.

Ahh, I remember when I didn't have a tolerance.... Those were the days.

Anyhow, I recommend drinking some Coconut Juice with your oxycodone, the kind with pulp like Agua de Coco, for reduction of nausea.

There's always trying another ROA such as plugging, but in your case of acute injury let's just save you the trouble.

i think you guys are missing my main concern.. i didn't take any today and i still cant stop throwing up

I definitely missed that. It could be that you're super sensitive to opiates, and there's still a bit in your system (the rule of half lives, remember it's exponential, not linear) considering your last dose was last night.

Lie down for opiate-related nausea. It really works to reduce it drastically, and often elimenate it.

You 'over dosed' yesterday to the point whre your body is still rejecting the foreign toxic substance. It's common if you are new to opiates and over do it. Just give it time..by the end of today you wont be barfing anymore. And when you dose opiates try taking onl yhalf the dose you took last time.. so if you took 10mg last time only take 5mg. You want to get high without nausea. Thats our goal here.

I don't even care about getting high tbh.. I just want to get rid of the pain in my back(which is brutal today because i haven't had any painkillers).

Im starting to think i picked up a stomach virus at the hospital.. I've puked almost 6 times today and i've also had a lot of diarrhea

Then its not the opiates making you sick... You have caught something that's making you nauseous/have diarrhea. Take your pills as normal, but don't take any more than your prescribed dose obviously. If you have any cyclizine/ondansetron, then take some as well, it will help immensely.

Cheechy that's probably whats going on with you. I don't like guessing at these things, but I seriously doubt your body is reacting this badly to the oxycodone since you've abstained for an entire day and you're still throwing up.

As much as it sucks, save your pain meds until you can hold down food. Consider it a reward for beating this "stomach flu" you picked up.

Number one reason I hate going to see a doctor. There is always some sick person in there just waiting to infect everyone else in the waiting room. I think if its obvious someone has the flu or even shows a hint of begin able to spread something bad they should be taken back first and dealt with ASAP. Get those guys and girls out of here and on their way so the rest of us don't have to miss work for three days. >(

Any doctors still doing house calls? I'd love to find one of those, I'd pay double for that.

Sorry about your run of bad luck. Hopefully once you're over this sickness those oxycodones will be there to provide the relief you need.

Sorry to hear of all your troubles. Personally, I'm on obscenely high doses of narcotics every day of my life but I can tell your from experience that Advil (or ibuprophen) works wonders for me sometimes. Try taking 800mg of Advil (4 tablets usually) and if you can keep it in your stomach, I assure you, you'll get some pain relief. Good Luck!

It sounds like a stomach bug... but that means you SHOULD be fine to take a percocet then. The only concern is that you might throw it up before it gets absorbed. The solution is obviously a different ROA.

  • Snorting oxy is kind of stupid to begin with, and a lot of it ends up in your stomach anyways. Plus, snorting pills in particular seems to cause some people to gag and retch intensely (and occassionally even throw up in their mouth a bit), so I'd avoid that while sick.
  • Injecting is not something I'd ever recommend, much less with percs (or even oxy at all), MUCH less to a noob such as yourself.
  • Smoking pills is just... no. And ditto to the above listed reason.

Plugging, on the other hand, is a more than viable option. It's a great way to take many drugs because it's pretty much just as safe as oral administration, but often has the same added effectiveness and speed of onset as snorting does (USUALLY). If you're comfortable with your sexuality and gender and can understand that this has nothing to do with being gay, I'd highly recommend it. Just think of it as equivalent to taking a suppository - which it is. People take them all the time, and it's likely you have too at some point. The easiest and best method is to use a small oral syringe (e.g. 5ml) to "inject" a solution of the pill dissolved in lukewarm water (breaking it in quarters or crushing it first makes it easier to dissolve). For best (and easiest) results, lay down with your back to the floor, and put your legs up against a wall or counter to support yourself as you raise your hips into the air, and squirt.

This isn't a joke... I'm seriously recommending it, as long as you're not insecure about your sexuality. Other than that, see if you can get your hands on a prescription for ondansetron (brand name - Zofran). It's not recreational, but it's probably the most incredible drug I've ever taken because of its ability to just completely obliterate even the worst nausea I've ever had, nausea that Gravol couldn't put a dentbin. The stuff is truly incredible.

Didn't read everyone's posts, but just call your doctor and tell them you're throwing up. They shouldn't have a problem calling in a script for you over the phone to your pharmacy. I like Zofran for opiate nausea...

Try eating a nice big healthy meal before popping any opiates. Whenever I don't eat enough food or anything at all any kind of opiate/opiode will get me sick and make me throw up. Eating good is the key to a good opiate high imo.
