so ive been experiencing bad knee pain over the past few weeks, and the Tylenol 3 i was given had not helped at all. so just yesterday i was just prescribed 5mg Percocet.. It says on the bottle take 2 every 6 hours

Can i take them like 4 hours apart or should i just suck it up and wait for the full 6 - i know with the Tylenol its a little more risky to take more in a shorter period of time, but isnt the Tylenol dosage the same between the two medications?

I don't know how much APAP there is in Tylenol 3 - is Percocet 325mgs? (I'm from the UK so we don't have those preparations there..)

You want to make sure you aren't exceeding 2g in one go or 4g in 24 hours - the FDA as recently changed the new limit to 3g in the US actually. It's still 4g here. As long as you are within those limits and dosing no more often than every 4 hours you should be okay.

yup Tylenol 3 is actually 300 mg Tylenol, but the Percocet is 325 mg like you said, so i guess im pretty safe if i cut it to 4 hours, but i guess i cant go over 3 doses a day

You are fine cutting it to 4 hours, absolutely, so long as you don't exceed 3 grams of Tylenol (APAP) in a single day, and aren't going to be taking the Percocet for an extended period time. Also, don't drink while taking these because of possible increased risk of liver damage and increased CNS depression.
