People brushing against you when you're rolling

Paranoia...that is all that can be said.

If you went sober to a rave and counted the amount of times people stepped on your shoes or brushed up against you, you would find that it i the same amoutn as if you are rollinig but the connotation of the acts are different only because of the effects of the drug.

Have you been abusing MDMA? paranoia is one of the first bad effects that will show up if you abuse. are you mixing other drugs with your MDMA that are know to cause or increase paranoia? (i.e. weed) Could cronic use of another drug in your daily life be causing paranoia that is being compounded by your MDMA use?

It isn't paranoia at all, I don't get paranoid at all..if this happened at 1 event I wouldn't think anything of it but this has happened at 4-5 and the exact sequence of events takes place w/ people standing there watching me swallow saliva and me hearing things like "see?! see?! he just did it" then texting other people to come and verify and then having an individual from the group brush by me or bump into me..

And I keep my wallet in my front pocket at all times..

That happens to me when i drop acid but not when im just rolling, you learn to get used to it eventually

Talk of paranoia aside, I've noticed things like this at raves too, even sober. It seems as the night winds down the sketchier people seem to take over. My guess is, if these people really are targeting you, it's to rob you. They might be looking for more pills and looking for people who are still obviously rolling. If they're brushing in to you, they might be feeling for pills.

Then again, it might be just paranoia. But when all the street kids are lingering around the events, not ready yet to get back out on the street, I still watch myself and my friends.

Nope, not paranoia..and my PC is >5 waiting at least a month between rolls, taking pre roll and post roll precautions so you're statement is invalid. Never mixed anything ever with the mdma..

Read above, NOT Paranoia..
Damn dude maybe you shouldn't be doing pills. Seriously paranoia like that is NOT normal.

the most paranoid i've ever seen anybody on any kind of upper is someone freaking out because a police car pulled up outside...

Thank you, this proves my case. Yes, sketchier people definitely come out towards an hour or 2 before the end of the event and brush up against me DELIBERATELY even when I'm standing in a corner with a buddy. They've noticed it as well..

Yeah because at every rave, sketchy people flood out towads the end and start brushing against people to try and rob them. It's totally plausible these same people attended the same 5 events as you. -.-

Silly me thinking they'd just wait for you out int he parking lot with no cameras / cover of darkness.

But your theory of being brushed against to check for pills totally makes more sense, and doesn't sound like paranoid delusions at all.. =/

What are you like 13 or something? anxiety + stimulants + lack of sleep = paranoia.

LOL I agree with the OP. I've been to many raves, and every single time at exactly 2 AM, people stop dancing and turn into zombie creatures and immediately try stealing my rave cash, glowsticks, vicks, and pokeballs. That's why I set my phone alarm for 1:59, and the second that mother fucker goes off I BOUNCE OUT OF THAT RAVE IN A FUCKING HEART BEAT, because you never want to BE AT ANY RAVE ONCE 2AM STRIKES!!!

Could just be different regions. And yes, every rave that I've stayed at past 2am gets sketchy. People either zombie out or the begger street kids become more noticeable, hitting me up for more pills (either buying or selling), cigarettes, money, rides, a couch... these are the same kids I saw an hour or so earlier dancing their asses off. It's even worse if there's bad pills going around at the time. I think for those few peak hours everyone is fine and dandy, but as the drugs wear off some people go back to their shady lives off trying to dell bunk shit and pick pocketing.

And you may call it paranoia, I call it caution and situational awareness. Between the shady ass motherfuckers around with who knows what kinds of drugs in their system and the stories I've heard about people getting pick-pocketed... I'd rather be paranoid.

Also, wtf is up with kids and "free hug" signs? Whenever Seattle has a free festival of any sort I see these kids all over and can only think they're out to pick pocket or cop a feel. I don't get it... Free hugs are nice and all but these kids always look shady as fuck.

Overall, even towards the end, I don't think raves have too much to worry about. The only bad things is sometimes they're in bad areas of town, and not the kind of place you want to be walking around at 4AM to find your car. I still feel safer and fine at a rave than some night club.

Statistically I think raves would be more 'dangerous' during the peak hours when they are much more crowded. Comedowns from E don't turn people into creeps and thieves, people are going to be like this if they want to.

The vibes cannot match what they just recently were when there were hundreds or thousands of people on ecstasy, but I don't believe at all it's danger land once people are coming down.

Very true, but in my experience, those who are left at the event at 4am are either still high or literally have no where else to go and will stay at the event until they get kicked out (i.e. street kids.) Many of these kids are nice enough, but I've met quite a few that will take advantage of those zombied stragglers in order to get some money or drugs (to take or sell.) You're right, these shady kids are still there doing shady things in the dance mob (my husband has felt his pockets inspected on quite a few occasions) but as the crowd disperses the likely hood of these kids targeting you becomes more probable. That's just my experience though. Yours might be quite different.

Finally a reasonable response.. and to the troll asking if I'm 12, I'm <21 so shut it.

Another reasonable response. I did the same thing for the events, didn't stay longer than 2..posters like you show there are some people who are NOT ignorant on this site.

The last quoted response was actually sarcastic against your point, and the other one was written by a female who will naturally be a little more paranoid at any party/rave :-)

Some raves are still popping at 2AM, some are ending. I think towards the ending point of any rave, we all watch ourselves a little more because the vibe isn't the same at the party, we're all coming down, tired out, etc. But I don't think anybody is accustomed to hearing others say with regularity they want to leave the party early from feeling threatened during the later hours. I'm sure this minority can't be ruled out, but if that's the way you feel then choose better raves or just get there a little early and leave early.

Nightlife is the same way no matter where you go. I think bars and clubs generally get more dangerous towards the end of the night, then also strolling through a downtown section might make one paranoid and seem more dangerous like afterwards.

One of the reasons I love raves so much is because they feel like such a genuine and friendly form of expression while being safe at the same time.

In terms of gathering tons of people and putting them into one party scene, raves get my win for safety in comparison to any other alternative (band concert, night club, bars, parties). I've seen brawls at bars and clubs continuously, I can't ever remember once an altercation at a rave. I've seen a few girls wrestle each other which was a little cool, but I've met tons of cool dudes at raves never once did any hostility develop.

"<21" means "less than 21", which is obviously consistent with being 12.

How fucking cynical are you? A person can't want to simply spread a little joy and love, they must have some sort of nefarious motive?

every rave that I've stayed at past 2am gets sketchy
Decent rave is just getting started at 2.

I'd say the people saying it's paranoia are infact, correct.. What are the chances that different people are doing the exact same thing.. and laughing about you swallowing? I mean come on man..

You're ther ignorant one for not accepting it as a possibility.

It's classic paranoia.

.if this happened at 1 event I wouldn't think anything of it but this has happened at 4-5 and the exact sequence of events takes place w/ people standing there watching me swallow saliva and me hearing things like "see?! see?! he just did it" then texting other people to come and verify and then having an individual from the group brush by me or bump into me..

People are just doing their own thing.. someone brushes past you (been happenin all night) and you take it as a personal attack. You hear someone leaughing.. They must be laughing at you.. swallowing.. Someone is on the phone.. must be plotting against you.. see the pattern here?

Also, have you ever caught anyones hands in your pockets? Seen anyone steal anything? Or is it just a feeling you have..

I'd just attempt to hug them =) Either they'll like it and hug you back, or they'll weird out and leave you the hell alone. =)

That's my solution, but Im a generally affectionate person whether I'm rolling or not.

In my experience this isn't very true... and we're from the same scene lol. Yeah, it's true that the street kids stay the whole time, but so do a lot of non street kids (including myself) because they just love raves and don't want to leave. I've never noticed anyone try to pickpocket me or anything like that.

I've never heard of this 2am theory, you guys must be going to the wrong raves in the wrong areas. The ones that i go to you never see that kind of activity, and if someone looks "sketchy", it's not thier fault that you are so quick to judge them. Besides when it's that close to the end most people are tired out from dancing and usually find a place to lounge.

I certainly can feel the energy not be being as high after 2am, and that's to be expected after people been dancing for hours and having their minds melted all night. Only one time has anybody ever started begging me when the rave was pretty much over for pills, some mexican high schooler with an obvious fake sob story. Even after I told him no he was still clinging on to me selling me the same bs old lines.

The kid looked sketched out as hell, I could tell he already had a couple that night and he wanted to chase that high even though he claims he just got into the rave and he came with no pills. Riightt.
