When I think about what we’ve been doing
Sometimes I smile and cry
At the same time
Trying to live in the moment
Thinking of where we’ve come from
But also knowing where we’ve got to go
So ferociously tuned into you
Yet so full of sadness
Worrying that I’ll be left starving
Not knowing if the last time
Was the last time
I find myself sitting planning
How I’ll take you like a force of nature
Let forth a scream as you take me to the edge
Then push me over
All the time you’re observing my body arch
My mind turns inwards on itself
Because at the same time I’m reaching ecstasy
I’m working through the melancholy
Of losing what we have
Forward planning in the moment
It’s so confusing
But I can’t fantasise about how you’ll touch me
Without knowing
That we’ve got an expiry date
You say it’s just sex and that’s ok
But I’ve become a junkie
I’ve been going cold turkey for weeks
Only held together
By the moments where you show me
Your mental erection
I’ll lay back and feel the rush
Manifesting your body inside my head
So we can hold each other
If only through fingers and minds
Until I know better I’ll just assume
That the words you say will become reality
I’ll deal with this ache to be lost in your skin
Slowly inhaling and exhaling
Until you’re here
Penetrating body and mind
Filling me with an energy
That I can’t even describe
The woman on the inside is wild like wolves
The girl on the outside
Is slowly morphing into the woman
And the wolves
Better to devour than be devoured
Shedding youthful skin
Dripping confidence
Internal light flipped on
Light from within.
