penalties/sentencing for simple possession of coke

does anyone have any experience with getting busted for simple possession of coke (no intent to sell, say around 5 grams) in the states? how do penalties depend on on the amount? if you have any information on how much a lawyer cost you, how big the fine/sentence was, what plea bargain you were able to get, and what charge was left on your record, i'd appreciate it.

Well I got caught with possesion of X, just one pill and they dropped a felony 5 on me for that, and I know possession of coke is a felony 5. But 5 grams could be intent to sell which is another felony 5 I believe. Each of those felonies in ohio is 6 months to a year and a half in a jail. They usually combine the 2 together and think up a sentence for you. if its your first offense of drugs then you will be alright. If they dont get you on intent to sell then you could get a lawyer to file for umm. I think its called lieu conviction or something. It is where u go into treatment for getting caught with a possession of drugs.
I got caught with one X pill which they slapped a felony 5 on me and traffiking X, only one pill also and they slapped a felony 4 on me, but it was my first offense. I went and got a good lawyer which cost me 15,000. I ended up with 2 years probation, probations fees of 20 a month, two days required jail which wasnt bad, and 100 dollars in fines, and 1 year license suspension. My lawyer got the traffiking charge off of my record, and if I dont get in trouble again the possession will be expunged in 5 years. If u get a lawyer he'll plea not guilty most likely.

do you know if a dui (alcohol only) counts as a prior drug-related arrest?
 
california.
i'm still on probation for a dui, but i think that only applied to alcohol related arrests. not sure how much it would come into play.
 
Well yeah your right that would probably be an alcohal related arrest, nothing to do with drugs what so ever.
