Peakin' Naturally

Nothing really works for me as effectively as hearing a track that I really love... Ever get those full body shivers, just like your peaking ~really~ hard? ...The old school tracks do it for me, and those awesome newer ones...
Then there's the little things that instantly put a smile on my face... Surprise sms' from someone I care about... A shared personal joke... Something which triggers the memory of a shared personal joke...
As for the things which I do to 'pick me up', number one is listening to some of my favourite tunes, the platipus label has saved me many times... When I get the chance, stuffing around with my music gear and making a combination of sounds that really ~works~ is an awesome feeling... And lately looking at photos of recent events has helped get through those nasty periods...
 
just had a great one..
was driving home from work, listening to a cd i havent heard in aaaages, and i had forgot that born slippy was on it..
last time i heard that track i was peakin off my head at mystic (which was THE best nite of my life)
up came a big grin, up went the volume, up went the hands (which qwickly went back on the steering wheel...) and up went my singing...
i'm still buzzing from that one song... and it's 1 1/2 hours after...

You can get a great buzz from electricity too...
Just go out and find yourself an electric fence and grab onto it. After the initial shock and feeling of being hit by lightning, you get a tremendous buzz - almost like being on speed for 5 or 6 minutes

During my bout of tuesday blues (yes i know it's wednesday today, but I dumped on sunday..shhh!:P) I managed to hold myself together and relaxed to some radio1 (uk radio station) and a good magazine. It brought my right out of the depressed state I was in and I've been in a good mood since.

ive to agree with stylin - when i can beatmatch and everything sounds so perfect. OMG ... it really make my day and everything seems fine!

these days, i get naturally high all the time just by listening to music.
i think its the fact that the music i listen to is usually electronic dance music, which is made to be uplifting and cos i associate it with feeling good.
i didnt get quite the same feelings back in the day when i listened to Nine Inch Nails all the time.
also, this might sound strange, but i'm wondering if other pillpoppers can relate... for some reason its always really easy for me to get naturally high 'round Wednesday, mid-week.
 
Have to say that the buzz i got after I finished my first triathlon (and the next ones) makes the high you get off drugs almost pale in comparison. As Airwalk will probably vouch for as i ranted and raved for days and just loved life in general and thought everything was just dandy -
GO THE ENDORPHINS!

There are so many cool things here, but ill just ad a few of mine, I love to make music with my band, its a fantastic feeling, especially just jamming/screwing around.
But the main thing that brings me up when im down is running, the feeling of peace and independence I feel when im in the middle of nowhere with just my shoes under me is amazing!!

Mine aren't anything special...
Landing a great mix always gets me going. Problem is that I always start jumping around and knock the needle or something.
A good laugh, especially at a stand-up comic. My favourite would have to be Billy Connolly, but if you haven't heard any of Bills Hicks' material, do yourself a favour - get some!! Piss funny, and gets me peaking instantly.
Listening to a favourite tune whilst driving somewhere relaxing - sometimes sends so many shivers up and down my body that I break out in a sweat! Love it...
And someone said making people laugh - can't get enough of that as well! :)

All the people who say dancing by themselves in the living room - you're only halfway there. Dancing NAKED by yourself in the living room is what it's all about.
 
Music, music, music! That can bring me out of the worst downers. I just pick up my acoustic and play and play and play. That, or I listen to some excellent music.
Love is also the best natural high. You can't get more huggy then with the love of your life! Horray! :)
