Currently tripping sack on a fat dose of SARS-CoV-2 (presumably the Omicron-
isomer). A pretty shit high tbh, any substances that I can mix with this to make it more worthwhile?

Alright, now that I got this lame joke out of my system I feel much better. If anyone has any movie recommendations or other stuff I should do during quarantine please lmk.

You into TV shows? What do you generally enjoy?

Otherwise, you can always try playing some chess, can be mad addicting and you can argue that it's a fairly productive way to spend time ;)

Yes! Oh man, a lotta things. Currently watching Better Call Saul and it‘s getting better now (currently watching season 3), but it was off to a tedious start. Obviously I really liked Breaking Bad, also Hannibal, Sons Of Anarchy, Dexter and Maniac. There‘s plenty of other stuff I like, but maybe sth. that’s emotionally intense and investing. I have a few days so I can binge a few seasons without feeling bad :D

Better Call Saul will be better yes :) good timing, I think the last season will be released this year.

The Leftovers is like the definition of being emotionally intense and investing, first season is a little slower and straight forward, then the last two are particularly amazing. Your mind gets taking for a serious spin and the core message of the resolution is one of the most beautiful things..... I bawled my eyes out, not once, but also on the second viewing =D a true TV gem.

Don't know if it's as bingeable however. Certainly worth watching though, it's one of my most fond TV/film memories.

As for movies, you might enjoy Kill List =D

Haha I suck at chess, maybe it’s a good opportunity to improve on that.
Well yeah, the point is enjoying playing, if you don't, then that's also fine.
I said chess as a friend of mine started playing some time ago and went to 1800-1900 lichess elo in like a year. He enjoyed it a ton and it's extremely satisfying to get better. You never know.. could be a hidden future passion.

Nice, thanks for the recommenadations! Sounds like sth I would enjoy :)
Never heard of Kill List but definitely gonna check it out too.

Interesting, the last time I played was quite a while ago. I'll have to give it another try.

You ever had covid before? It definitely does suck, you probably will feel better soon though.

Have you ever seen Harold & Maude? It's a dark comedy classic.
Also never seen that one! Thanks for the suggestion.

Nope, first time for me. It's actually not that horrible, I have a cough, sore throat, and feel pretty weak (feverish), but it's definitely not unbearable. :)

So what I do for movie recommendations, this may be tmi but whatever.
I'll check the what movie have you seen thread on here for some inspiration, and I try to find a couple reviewers on letterboxd that appear to have "good/similar taste" and I just fill up my watchlist with stuff, and from there you get to know directors and shit, which adds even more stuff you need to watch someday.
Never being able to choose a movie to watch and just being tired of Netflix in general made me just never watch any movies, while it's one of the most fun things one can do imo.

Great times 👍

I saw Scotty Don't as my first show after moving to the town I live in, with my family when they were visiting. We went to see Badfish, and didn't expect to see Scotty Don't, it was a good show, and I have the album that has that cover art, I bought it there. I realized after they were done and the next band came out, that they're the same people doing a different band, it's their original music rather than Sublime covers. That's pretty bad ass to open for your own band

That is awesome, haha. And sounds like a great show. I got introduced to them many years ago, I can't remember how exactly anymore but it definitely had something to do with first learning about them as Badfish too. I always really liked their vibe, but I find their sometimes rather quirky lyrics to become deeper and more meaningful for me too as time goes by. I certainly feel like I can relate to a lot of it.

Good to see you back, @Kaleida. Hope you are doing well.

I wasn't familiar with Scotty Don't, but I listened and I dig the music. Never seen a band open for themselves but I love it. I'm a big fan of Sublime but never saw them live since Brad Nowell died years before I was even born. Hoping I can go to a Badfish/Scotty Don't show someday.

I never saw Sublime either, but the first time I saw a live show was in my mid-twenties (besides classical music/band/orchestra shows of course). Actually Scotty Don't/Badfish was probably like my 3rd ever. I didn't start seeing a lot of live music until my ex and I split in late 2013.

Hey arrall, it's good to see you again too. :) I'm sorry to have dropped our conversation when I disappeared before, but I just sent you a PM response when you've got the time for it. I'm definitely dealing with a whole lot right now, but I could be worse off. Hope you're doing well too!

I really do like them, and Sublime too. I've never been to a Scotty Don't show either but would really like to as well.
