We should start a PD Social band using Ohm Studio. You guys guitaring away, Solipsis/TAC on keys, me spicing things up with a synth or whatever. Get Dondante to shoot some artsy-cover art. A massive clash of styles, yes, but that only makes things interesting :D

I like. Solid body guitar of some sort through chorus and delay?

kidklmx: We don't need that software....just need an agreed upon tempo and a tempo map should be able to be loaded on most DAWs. Then it's just getting WAVS uploaded/downloaded. I actually have IMed stems this way for my tracks, guy does drums with with I sent, uploads his stems, I mix in with mine and now you have guest stars on your record from far away.

We should totally do this!
 
Ohm is a live colaborration though, no need to keep sending stuff and what I or anyone does is displayed directly. Pretty neat. Only now see the beta is ending next week, wouldn't pay for it either ;)

But yeah I'm down for this idea, too. Would be a great feat if we could pull this off, because of the complete chaos of ideas and clashing schedules. But any PDers interested?

Hmm, I sware I heard modulation. Some of the delay pedals add a little modulation to each delay, or maybe my hearing is just a little trippy these days.
Ok I didn't look too much deeper, this program synchs up live feeds? That is still pretty easy to do even with the lag between each camera....need to use a technique of (CLAP) or some sound to synch everything to, we all play live in a room or pod cast (not my area here) and each record their parts...the synch clap will allow the mixer to link them all together. So still mailing stems and such but is email really so rough?
 
^No that's not really an issue, but if it'd make things easier (and it does) then it would be worth the 80MB.

And no, it's a DAW where the project is on every computer at the same time. So if you're recording the chorus or whatever then it automatically uploads it, and when I change the levels to make it fit better in the song that happens live on your screen as well. Everything happens live, so it's more like you're all there together. People could add notes, there's a live chat. Organizing stuff like this can become a mess, especially when there's 5 or 6 artists emailing stuff individually.

But yeah now that it isn't free, we just need to find another way to coordinate such a chaos. Yeah emailing is fine when you're with 2, but this is something else. But that's for later, first we need to scramble some people together

Yeah I wasn't even thinking to that kind of synchronization. I was just thinking of how to record tracks while playing together, to be mixed later.

Modern technology. Far out idea, the Virtual PDBL Band but a good one!

I didn't know you guys missed me. :)_ You make me feel family! I have no problem admitting I care what BL/online family thinks of me, BL is family. Isn't that vibe oh so nice? I came straight to PD and never really looked back for the most part. I mean has anyone ever looked at the "B&D" versions of say MXE or 6-APDB threads in EEAD? Terrible, its almost like the lounge and has like one or two worthwhile sentiments and this seems like how 90% of the other threads are. I love the lounge but damn lets keep things separate or their will be no actual science.... Not calling anyone/thing out, its just damn if your going to pretend to have legitimate threads make them so, if its a "thread where 90% of the users are talking non sense to their friends" then let it be named that. Just always wanted to say that, I always say, go to the EEAD AL-LAD thread hoping for some new info(back in then beginning)and all it was, was rubbish. People talking about how high they were and others were jealous, was lunacy in comparison to our AL-LAD thread(I guess I just don't get why they were given the power to do things like that, as other forums can't, US version definitely has no B&D's and such). Just always found it an oddity.



Anyways, yeah that family vibe is why I always come back eventually, its like anyone old enough(join date) knows each other which creates a "homey" type feel.
 
Just wanted to pop in and say hey to you all since I haven't checked in here in a bit.

Finally got a little bit of steady money coming in which is another hurdle jumped over along my journey. I also had some interesting experience teaching English recently. It was using an easy method and as such it was all easy aside from me being a tad nervous at first about teaching a group of people. Unfortunately the job wasn't what I expected though and I was sort of getting ripped off - so no longer doing that, but it showed me I can teach, and I'm considering starting up private lessons or applying to other schools. Hopefully I'll be able to find more work to fill my time and I can see a new very positive phase of my life up ahead :)

Overall I'm really happy lately, had a few bumps along the road, made some mistakes but learned some lessons and I think day by day I'm growing and moving forward in the right direction. I have a lovely family, friends, cat and dogs, my main fears conquered, and my biggest mistakes and hurdles behind me - and can really actually imagine myself successful in all areas of my life for once. There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'm ready and know that since I've come so far I really can achieve something great if I try.

Hope I'm right, here's to a bright future, for all of us! :D <3

 
Great words man! 2013 seems too be a year of change/healing for a lot of folks.
