As a totally and completely lost 25yo I agree with that assertion, TAC.

For my own answer to NKB's question:

Long periods of being uncomfortable punctuated by brief respites of inexplicable euphoria... or let's just say a chemically imbalanced equation resulting in painful self-awareness.
 
I think my ideal answer to my own question would be to spontaneously start crying when asked it. You could interpret that act in so many ways and they'd all be true.

Ontological security is important, anticipation is important, I think we're the sick ones. Well maybe not you guys, but I'm pretty sure my own sanity level has slipped beneath the minimum acceptable value.
 
So excited =D working on a new mushroom growing installation that is working out quite well even if I do say so myself. There are only a few chores left before I can start test running it and dialing in all the timers to maintain a perfect climate inside it.

Pics are forthcoming.

Gonna grow psychoactives as well as gourmet / choice / edibles as well as medicinal mushrooms. At this point I am only growing Cubensis, the current bulk grow is working out nicely and if it continues like this I'm gonna be able to do cool extraction experiments.

The grow room is also updated with a fresh glovebox that has actual fixed arms in it and bigger size than my former one.

When the lab is finished it is gonna be baptised the "MacGuyver Lab", since I owe so much to duct tape. :D
 
^So, as it turns out, cow shit works well as a substrate?

I'm sure it does, but I haven't even used it yet. It was not ready at the time and dried for later use.
The current bulk grow is all grains... chicken fodder actually.
Soon I'll be checking out the cow shit, straw and sawdust+woodchips, all supplemented.

And I'm doing agar to get monocultures of a few types I haven't grown yet: Panaeolus Cyanescens ('Hawaiians'), Reishi, Pioppino, Psilocybe Allenii (a quite potent exotic species that grows best outside on a patch of wood chips)...
and ones that will have to wait for a season that isn't so friggin hot are: King Oyster and Shittake.

I'll also be adding truffles at some point but I am still waiting on the spores from a trade with someone.

And something I am very curious about is Cordyceps, if you don't know it you should really read the wiki or something. It grows naturally from the bodies of caterpillers and insects, some types can influence the nervous system to make the insects march to a high place ideal for spore-spreading, and last but not least: some species are among the most medicinal known, they can increase ATP by 30% (the substance in our bodies that mediate energy), increase red blood cells (and thus oxygen), and help to remedy all sorts of ailments. And yes it has been used as doping.

I wanna grow that!!!

Oh gosh. That video actually had me fooled for a sec too. Have you looked up the dude that produced it? He's a quack, and his ideas are a load of nonsense, and have nothing to do with actual quantum physics.
 
Yeah actually, when smoking some hashish and laying in my bed I realized that the only reason I regarded this as accurate was that it's entirely aimed at spirituality/psychedelic users. Now reading that forum post on stackexchange and I realize he's a bit of a crackpot (every. damn. time.)

Can't blame me though, his train of thought is very compelling and makes total sense, and what in a dumbed-down way is a fairly reasonable view on what more than 4 dimensions could mean for our universe. His interpretation of what he calls the 4th and 5th dimension is something I think could even be true, but I must admit I don't really "get" quantum physics. (Feynman would be proud) I think it's far too early to start interpreting string theory in any meaningful way anyway, though does anyone know of an explanation of more dimensions that's accepted by the string-theory community? Or at least one that's not boo-hoo'd to death?

And be sure to keep us updated, Solipsis. Don't have much to add in terms of discussion but I love reading about this sort of thing

Keep it up Soli I see ya on the shroomery I wanna see pics of what you have going on. I just lost my entire everything to trich and one other un IDentified form of mold, due to pre-sterilized spawn bags bla bla. Well I have one three pound cake fruiting for personals :) I am starting my new set up this weekend, seeing as our house has been empty and we have tried to rid this bacteria prob back to basics!

I have a killer mini greenhouse trying to keep those monos pumping.

I would love to see pics tho of that the great soli can do with cubes :)

In your experience is monotubs in a mini greenhouse efficient? Seems purpose-defeating to have a fruiting chamber within a fruiting chamber, no? I'm gonna put trays in. The kind that used to contain 2 pounds of meat.

How can you say that, man? Of course there's no physical destination/goal for us to reach....

It's a state of mind, a way of being, a consciousness, that we're working towards.

The goal of humanity is to achieve happiness, in the simplest of terms. To achieve spiritual enlightenment. To bring about a different way of thinking. In the mind of the individual, and then to transmit this feeling to others.

I should rephrase my statement, I dont have a green house I have a grow room, I dont know why I said greenhouse. My massive explosion of mold came from ordering from a non-vendor, and I guess the dude is a junkie and sends water in his syringes it was awful to say the least, one was left uncapped on accident and mold flooded our room. I have no idea what happened with out pre-sterilized bags thats why we had to clean everything. I only have one 3 pound cake fruiting right now. No pics considering I just had to go dump 250 pounds of rotten spawn bags in a dumpster.

Whatever, we all at some WOW, MDMA and MDA to celebrate our failure! We start back up on sunday, I have some bomb little red B+ Pins on my cake tho we are just saving these for personals.

So I was thinking about telepathy, and how it might be achieved. Quantum entanglement? The idea is that two people could try to replicate a condition in each others brains, maybe by focusing on a simple object or design. Their thoughts would have to sync perfectly, and perhaps the physical conditions in the brain must also match precisely. Then maybe you'll get "bleed through" from the other person. Maybe it happens all the time, and we simply don't recognize it!
