☮ Social ☮ PD Social Thread: N-Dimensional Funhouse of Possibilities

Man I feel weird today. I took some DOC yesterday, which in retrospect was maybe fruitless, it was just because I felt like it. I also got pretty drunk. Not sure what the cause is, but I believe I have learned a lesson.

Woah, did I miss something horrible that happened to your feet? I hope the surgery went well.

The best part about it was that we read all original sources--Aristotle and Plato, David Hume, John Locke, Marx, Nietzsche, etc. And it was a discussion-based class, so we just sat across from each other around a big table and argued our opinions about all these great philosophers and political theorists.

That is definitely the most fun format for a philosophy/political theory class.

Anywho, drinking some brandy, E&J XO, which tastes much better than something so cheap should be allowed to.

I haven't been on anything resembling a normal human sleep schedule for more than a couple days in a row all summer.

Well, mine is much more regular now. I sleep every single day.

I feel better today, still a bit sluggish though. I think I was mostly way overtired, after no sleep Thursday night and like 3am or later every other night this past weekend. Last night I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 7:45, a normal time for me. And hey, I had dreams, which rarely happens if I sleep at crazy times. I also drank every night from Thursday through Sunday, so... yeah. Gotta slow down a bit, I've been going hard with everything all summer, basically just living it up. But I can't overwork or overparty myself or I'll have issues. That's what I've "learned".

Just got my first gram of MXE ever :D I've had like max 500mg of the stuff before.. This should last me a few months :) I got a evening shift at work tomorrow so maybe I'll take some tonight and get wonky

I woke up at a pretty normal time today! I might even stick with this whole 'human sleep schedule' thing for a while... I have a doctor's appt. on Thursday afternoon, and starting next week I have two insanely busy weeks back to back - 16 job interviews in 6 days, possibly more being scheduled in the meantime, law school is such a pain in the ass.

Wow, lots of interviews! Good work. Yeah, sleeping at normal times feels really good. Getting up early is great. I always have FAR more dreams when I go to bed by midnight and wake up early. I really threw myself off this past weekend and I can feel it quite significantly.

Going to bed and waking up at a normal time makes me feel so much better. My sleep schedule has been so off all summer. I've been averaging 4-5 hours of sleep a night. But this past week I've been going to bed earlier, and I feel so much better. I've been waking up refreshed and not feeling sluggish at all. It's great!

I've been working the whole summer 5 days a week, only 3 weeks left. I could to this for months, even for years lol. But then maybe not the rest of my life hehe.. University begins next month, lets see what adventures life will show me there =)

I'm on 40mg MXE here drinking tea and just enjoying the evening. Will smoke a bowl soon and just enjoy the mUsiiicccc

have a great day fellas

University is such an adventure, really it was the best time of my life so far, especially the first two years. Met the person who was the love of my life for a long time, had great times with her and our friends, made lifelong friends who I am still very close with, had so many adventures and crazy times and just lived life to the FULLEST. And I got a degree that has helped make my life since then better and given me security. Congrats on getting in, and I wish for you the best of times. :)

Are you going to be living on campus? I recommend that for sure! Adds immeasurably to the experience of college.

Thank you so much, it was one of the happiest days of my life when I got the letter that I was accepted :D I really don't know what I would've done this autumn if I hadnt got in

And nope, the campus is actually like 1 mile away from my home so its perfect :D

Ah, well that's cool, you can still participate heavily and be there a lot. I would have hated commuting to college but I lived 30 minutes away, with my parents.

Just out of curiosity, which school did you go to? I went for one semester at the university of north Georgia so far, but I didn't do so hot.. Now I'm taking the year off to save some money before I go back to school

i'm starting back up in school too, three weeks from today. i'll be commuting though... 45 miles... only going on tuesdays and thursdays though.

won't be able to keep working full time at my current job, so i feel ya' xammy. i'm hoping they let me switch down to part time, but if not i'll have to find a new job.

I don't have to find a job, in Finland they pay you when you go to school :DD student allowance or whatever its called. I get like 400€ per month, its not much but I'll live with some savings

im high as fuck, mxe+weed shoots me straight into the space hahahhaha

Finland... Scandinavia actually, what a place...

I went to Northern Illinois University.

Interesting. Australia has a similar thing where you can receive payments from the government as a student. Only available to those under 25 though (I think).

Do you have to pay upfront for university in Finland? In Aus, you just take out a loan which is pad back in instalments after your income reaches a certain threshold (usually around 52k I believe). Its a good system, it gives you the impression that you will earn a decent salary one day and is manageable. If you are not earning, you are not paying back. I'm actually paying back more then is required because I want to reduce interest payments; plus I earn plenty to do that with. I hope to have paid for my own university/tertiary education within the next 3 or 4 years.

I've had a migraine which I have treated with sumatriptan. Regrettably TBH, because it makes me feel really physically awful. Could barely sleep last night with pseudo-anxiety and restlessness. Ended up taking GHB which has helped. I'd rather have a migraine I think....:|

Hey willow. :) Hope you feel better.

I just went out to the kava bar for a bit, I'm having a hard time shaking this funk. For the last two days I've felt pretty weird, mentally and physically. Not quite sure why though I have been going hard for like 2 weeks and a lot of intense shit has been going on. I had some kava and it helped, now I just feel relaxed, which is good. Not a very exciting night there though, I only stayed for like 45 minutes because hardly anyone was there. The last few times I went I met a bunch of people and had a lot of fun. I think I probably need to just sleep well for the rest of the week and hit it a little less hard for a bit... I've been tripping every weekend and drinking quite a bit too. Actually the other night I got quite drunk and woke up feeling fine physically, but weird emotionally. An emotional hangover. I don't know, but I do know that it's been too much. Good that I can recognize these things now, before it goes bad.
