Gave it a few spins now Xor. Like the guitar player. Nice addition. Definitely has some hot spots. It might be my speaker but I'm having a little difficulty hearing the bass. Very nice though. Good work. :)

Right on man, it's all quite old and on outdated gear. Need to get some new stuff goin once I start feeling better with some better drums and an updated sound. Still undecided between ableton and protools. It's all mostly solo stuff but I would like to get with a band as well and do something totally fresh and funky but I like the lush soundscapes you can make with electronics. Something electronically tinged but not entirely electronic. Nice and organic.

Thanks. :)

Really into psy dub lately too. Might start a project doing that.

Yeah I love electronic music for that too, I'm not into it when it sounds all harsh and robotic but when used organically it's so great (Shpongle comes to mind but also just sounds added to instrumental music). Our main guitar player creates electronic music-style soundscapes with his pedals, it adds a lot. But everything we do is instrumental at this point. However once I get some better keyboards and stuff I want to get one with a sampler and start to add stuff to the music with that.

I think anymore man really soft synths are the way to go. With a few exceptions of course; the TI virus comes to mind as well as the moog. Everything else gets so outdated so fast. I've always like yamaha a lot and I have an ES8. I think for real instruments, esp. the piano, yamaha shines. A nice b3 mod would be nice. I have a KORG too but I'm not into it really. Kinda harsh sounding IMO. But I checked out the oasys a while ago (5 years ago) and it was pretty sick and had some cool features, I'm sure they've incorporated some of those features into some newer synths. Roland is always pretty cutting edge too but I haven't had one of those. But buy used to save some dough.

Oh man, I envy your instruments. All I have right now is a $230 Yamaha "portable grand"... with a few exceptions (the click organ sound is decent), the piano sound is the only one I like on it. It sounds pretty good (it's what I use in all the records I've put on Soundcloud except the very first one which used an even cheaper old Casio I was given for free which is what got me back into playing music back in December after 11 years of not playing). I played a Korg at the weekly funk jam in town 2 Tuesdays ago, and the sound it was on was so fucking funky, it felt amazing and really altered the way I was playing. I haven't explored them other than that, I go to Guitar Center to play around on the keyboards they have but they don't have Korgs or anything that nice. I really want to find a place to play with the nicer keyboards because then when I go up and play at junk jam or any other situation, I don't have to worry that something won't be no or set right and there being nothing I can do about it.

Thanks for the ideas. :)

Xorkoth, here is my soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/m-c-confuz-dreckzloch-44 -----where are u on there?

Planning to try 2C-B for the first time today :D however I'm also strongly considering the urge to combine it with mushrooms haha... I know you should always try something new for the first time by itself, but I honestly can't see anything bad coming from the combo.

Will be great going for a walk on the peak though! Keeeen

On Friday, I told my girlfriend of 3 years that I loved her but didn't want to be in a relationship with her anymore. It was too hard to explain the reasons why. More or less, I'm just not in love with her, and would rather spend time doing other things with other people. I just don't want to continue leading her on, like I have for the last few months. I thought things might change. It's a bummer, since she's a good woman, really, with a caring heart, but lately I've been getting irritated by her company, our conversations are banal, there is no romance, and it feels like a second job. I must seem like a total dick, but it still felt like the right thing to do.

If it felt like the right thing to do, it was. Sorry man, that must be difficult. <3 Irritated by the company of a lover is a sign that things might not be working out, IMO. Unless it's like, every so often or something. And romance is very important.

I need to listen to some more of your jams Xorkoth, I checked out something about a week back that I really dug but never mentioned it and think I've forgotten which track. I felt an understanding of where you were musically going...

And belatedly, I loved those dissociated posts, willow. <3

Thanks man :) I enjoyed posting them...

There is such an arcane internal logic to dissociative trips, they are difficult to convey without using geometric language..

Fuck, I cannot for the life of me remember where I've put my fucken weed :| Its not in the usual places. Though I did find a nugget that was basically petrified and almost black and did not smell like weed but has gotten me stoned. I guess I'm saying that I just smoked some random shit because it looked like weed. Feels like it too. But didn't smell like anything at all.

I remember grabbing a 2 gram bud, wrapping it in toilet paper and INTENDING to store it in my usual little box, but it seems I never followed through with my intentions. Goddamn it :| Fucking drugs. The fact I am a stoner makes trying to find stashed weed virtually impossible. :D And I am "finding it" everywhere; do you know how many things in the world resemble gunja wrapped in toilet paper??

Hey what's up my fellow psychedelic users

What's the general consensus here on MXE+nitrous? If I take enough of either, the trip it sends me on is so...bafflingly strange, hard to explain but it's like a short existential journey with very Daoist themes throughout. It can get pretty deep

But yeah, I think that mxe + nitrous is a really really wonderful thing to indulge in If you only do so twice a month max

I'll definitely have to give that a try when I get back home and get around to giving MXE a proper try. If there's a drug that nitrous doesn't enhance, I have yet to try it. I can see the combination with a more traditional (or at least, more k-like) dissociative being really interesting.

I was way overly optimistic re: how little hydro it would take for maintenance this time around, lulz. I think I grossly underestimated how much length of use impacts withdrawal/tapering. Still - I've gone from using obscene amounts of fent intranasally just a few weeks ago to maintaining on oral hydrocodone doses low enough that I haven't needed to do a CWE to avoid overdosing on APAP. Maybe I should cut myself a little bit of slack. Pretty sure I'm still comfortably on track to end my taper with a few days of suboxone when I get home from Europe.

Still not sure when my fucking passport will get here, it's looking pretty unlikely that I'll be able to stick to my currently scheduled Tuesday early morning flight. It'll be a bummer if I have to pay United $100 for the privilege of losing a couple of my days in Rome, but a bit longer in Austin would actually be kinda nice. I've been able to spend at least a couple hours chilling with close friends every day so far that I've been here, and for however long I'm stuck waiting on my passport I'll have a house and car to myself here, all the top shelf bud I can smoke, and lots of close friends in town who I rarely get to see these days. Two of my closest friends in town, who I've known for over a decade, now live mad close to me and have a startup business that seems to be going pretty well. My best friend since middle school moved back to Austin from Chicago after finishing law school last year, and he's loving his new attorney gig for a tech company and saving up to buy a condo. After spending the last month or so immersing myself in addiction recovery / support group environments, hearing countless strangers' sob stories about hitting rock bottom, it's a welcome change of pace to hear about how well things are going for awesome and talented people I know and care about.

I introduced my little siblings to Beats Antique today. Creature Carnival is visiting Austin but not Chicago this year - I'm so jelly. Seriously considering a long weekend trip to one of the cities they're playing in - either Indianapolis since it's the closest, or Boulder because they're playing two back-to-back nights there. Last year's Carnival was fucking amazing. One of the weirdest, friendliest, goddamn coolest communities I've ever had the pleasure of tripping/rolling face with, and the only other shows I've been to that approached that level of visual performance and stage presence were stadium-filling, $100+ sets from Tool and the Grateful Dead. And I've seen them twice now but didn't end up candyflipping either time... I dunno if I can wait till 2016 or beyond for another chance to rectify that egregious oversight. Whaddya say, guys - PDS field trip this October? ^^

Whaaa? Crazy!

If you want some guidance (since there are a lot of them on that link I poste), my favorites are 12-12-14 Dean Jam 2, Brian Jam 1, 3-7 Jam 2 (the part starting 10 minutes to the end is the song I am speaking of), 4-22 Jam 2 (and jam 1 is also really good there), and 2-18 Birthday Jam. I like to think they make great tripping soundtracks. :)

The closest they're coming to here this year with Creature Carnival is Charlotte NC... I'm probably going, it's a bit of a trek though. If you want to inexplicably travel a long way to see them, then we could have a field trip.
