Lol what you expect when im on speed?
A classmate of mine when i was in college had an em1 that he was selling, electron blue (whatever that purple blue color that only came on SIs or whatever), stock, not beat, like 100-130k miles iirc and he was asking i think 38 or 42 for it.
if i wouldve known i had a refund check coming after that semester i woulda been like YO DOG HERES 35 (and borrowed a few hunned to cover the rest)
You can find EP3s for 35-5k all day, but ep3s arent really desirable (although i absolutely love the look. And the whole hatchback deal), em1s blue book around 4 iirc, my main issue (other than money) would be finding one, that hasnt been fucked with, and still has the si stuff on it (cause imo the stock spoiler and si badges/dohc vtec on tbe side looks good. Cause i could just get an ex and throw a b16 in it and have basically the same car if i wanted to roll without the si trim)
Out of the crop of 90s japanese sport coupes id definitely have an RX7, fuck supras, 3kgts, Zs.

ive known dudes who managed to snag gsrs for 35-4 that arent beat.
The issue with hondas is half of them are beat cause theyre like known for being reliable and shit so people will be selling 200k mile base tegs/ex civics and shit, or youll see absolutely beat ass ones that someone has started fucking with.
even like b series swap and shit but exterior absolutely beat and shit.
Finding stock hondas that are desirable is like looking for hens teeth it seems like.
that and people with ex civics with ebay exhausts and the other ricer shit (or non gsr integras).
Like gtfo if it isnt a b or k series under the hood.
that and i absolutely hate the Em2 civics. They completely killed the look.
fingers crossed that in 2-3 months ill manage to make an em1 or ep3 appear outside my house.
worst case an ex or base integra. Rather have an integra over an ex.
further research says i might have to acquire a bit more funds than initially figured to get a decent em1.
Like i was thinking 45-5, looks like i might need up to 6 to make it happen.

I like rx7's a heck of a whole lot, but I honestly hate the rotory sound; 1.3l is a tiny whiney engine, and many rx7's aren't kept in good shape/have been riced to hell (really just like Hondas, Nissans, any Japanese car from the 90s now...). I really like American muscle and the deep sound of a massive engine to be honest but I have two problems with any muscle I could afford:

1)everyone bought auto-trans because they're stupid fat Americans, so standards are hard to find

2)the interiors are sooooooo ugly in the 1990's! I got spoiled by that 240sx interior, it felt like a fucking space ship in there, and I literally had more leg and head room in my 240sx than I ever have in any trans am's or mustangs or any other American made cars; somehow, I'm too tall for massive American cars, but I have plenty of room in the "rice burners". I'm a Japanese fan all the way simply because at least I can fit!

Personally I too don't much like Hondas due to them being predominantly FWD and lacking any kind of balls. They're just noise machines (older ones at least), and VTEC is no replacement for forced induction

Some of them are cool though, but I see things a lot from a "driver's" perspective, ie I care a lot more about the way the car feels to drive, its performance, etc.

240sx - do remember a rotary engine is a 2 stroke with 3 "cylinders" or combustion chambers (each combustion chamber will fire once per rotation, rather than once every second as with a conventional 4 stroke piston engine), so if you wanted to directly compare it to a conventional engine, it's like a 2.6L 6 cyl albeit you still need to rev the ass off it to make power, but aside from the necessity to rebuild the fuckers so often and that they burn oil by design, rotary engines are pretty wicked

I also despise conventional automatic gearboxes. Feel fucking sloppy, and are absolutely useless when it comes to performance for anything short of drag racing lol

That being said, my R (Volkswagen Golf R) is automatic but it's a DSG box, so it doesn't quite count hahaha....more like a manual gearbox with paddle shift




ALL that said, I would KILL to have this as a track car.....Ariel Atom. K20A. I believe it's a Garrett GT35 turbo. 650hp. Fuck me.

Yeah I realize they (rotory) make hella power with the tiny displacement, but they still sound whiney. I was just browsing craigslist out of boredom, and man, it's hard to find any not-riced 90's cars, American or Japanese... people do such tacky things to their cars. There was a single 300zx TT in the city I was looking at (hugeeeee city) and it was body kitted the fuck out... had a giant wing... ugggghhh.

The NSX was and still is a truly fantastic machine.

There's a few Skylines in the states, though VERY rare since they're obviously grey imports and would've been a bitch to get registered.....but hey, the R35 is significantly more than that over here

I think of cars as big hunks of metal you use to go places, and would measure them by fuel economy, safety, and reliability/typical maintenance costs. I like traveling by subway, wonderfully efficient and convenient.

In other news, made $267 profit in the lottery today (to put that in perspective, I just won a month's wages), thus ruining my plans for tomorrow, my original idea was to spend my birthday communing with a knife and trying convince myself to become intimate with it. Now I'm thinking I'll enjoy myself, plus I can't see if another ticket won anything until Tuesday. Ah, the joys of the impoverished spendthrift investment strategy.

And yeah I know Honda make the K series engine. The reason I brought up the Atom with the turbo K20A is that it's pretty much the only way to make something good from a piece of Honda (car, at least) - take the engine, put a turbo on it, and put it in something other than a Honda

You can still get rwd with cheap cars, albeit they would still be weak on power like you mentioned about KA's in the 240sx's. I'm contemplating investing in maybe a 1.8L Miata from the late 90's, something I could mod, maybe make into a sleeper kinda thing. But I've driven my girlfriend's miata, and when I get on it... it doesn't go anywhere. It would need some forced induction to ever get up and go.

I do like the R32 GTR the best of any car EVER (especially with the wingless trunk... mmmmm, wingless trunks), but they were never offered anywhere with the driver on the left side, and being right-handed and already accustomed to shifting with my right hand, I wana sit on the left side. Now, Acura offered an American NSX model, hence why it's my dream car over the more powerful (and much cheaper) R32 GTR. We can import R32's now since they're getting to be past 25 years old (and thus antiques and no longer subject to emissions) but they'll always have the driver on the wrong side, shifting with the wrong hand...

You'd absolutely lose your shit over my old housemate's 32 GT-R. Absolutely fucking MINT example. He's poured many many MANY tens of thousands into it. Like he's at a point where there's nothing else he can really do except chase more power (which he doesn't really want or need, given it's got a very comfortable ~350kw at the wheels). So bad that he replaced the $2000 rims he had on it with a set of gloss black LMGT4's....for the smooth price of $4000 without rubber LOL.

Would often get up early of a weekend, wander downstairs, and find him chilling out in the garage, having a smoke, just admiring his baby.

^^^ exactly. Shit happens hahaha. Some people get so irate over little things. I remember when I accidentally rear-ended someone at a roundabout (you yanks at least know what they are, right? ). It was SO minor, had only just started moving forward. The douchebag in front of me was incompetent and doesn't know how the fuck to navigate traffic, so decided he'd stop moving forward moments after I looked away to see if it was clear for me to follow suit and continue into the roundabout....

Well after boofing into the back of his car, doing sweet fuck all damage to him (minor scratches) and completely destroying the fibreglass front bar on my Skyline, we pull around the corner and off the road. He immediately starts going off his head at me, pretty much threatening to drag me out of my car lol. I was straight to apologising, admitting fault, and letting him know I'm licensed and insured, but noooo all because he's a braindead tradesman and I'm in a modified import, he's perfectly within his rights to explode at me. I obviously must've been hooning after all. Cunt.


There's actually a LOT of amusing and frustrating parts to the FULL story (like him dicking me around on insurance, not contacting me for months, then finally he never even bothered getting it fixed so I got my excess returned LOL). And the cockhead lives on the next street down from my parents. Drive past his place occasionally on the way there. Have a laugh when I see he STILL hasn't got the damage fixed...this all happened October 2011 hahaha

You guys, for real you should do yourselves a favor and watch and listen to this whole thing, or at least just one of the songs (it's 4 songs, a concert). This woman is the most amazing musician I have ever seen. I have no doubt she's the most talented and evocative pianist to have ever lived, certainly living now. She plays it like no one else I've ever seen. And watching her physical appearance during it... it adds SO much. She's just utterly becoming art. It's absolutely riveting, quite honestly maybe the most incredible thing of any sort I have ever witnessed.



Haha, nice. Yeah some people are real dicks. Fortunately not too many where I live. And yeah I know what roundabouts are. We have some in my town. It's true they're generally pretty uncommon, and IMO they should be as a 4-way stop is safer and sometimes faster. But that's neither here nor there. :D

This weekend was so awesome... I saw Elton John Friday night, and man can be still put on a show. The only way he showed his age was that he wasn't signing the really high bits, but his voice still sounded great, and his piano playing... holy crap, it was better than I've ever heard it. They jammed quite a bit too. It really surpassed my expectations.

Then Saturday I was hanging out and one of my good friends decided he wanted to trip with me that night... the weather is beautiful and is going to be for at least the next 10 days, so I decided we were going to have a Spring celebration trip. I went disc golfing with some other friends and before long, he arrived... I ended up taking 2 hits of AL-LAD (300ug) and 1 hit of LSD (strong LSD, unknown ug). I had a really wonderful trip, they combined into a single drug, basically LSD (with full depth and psychedelia) with the euphoria and entactogenic properties of AL-LAD. And it lasted as long as LSD too, I took it at 9pm and wasn't able to sleep all night. We had so many really hilarious and amazing conversations, and our faces hurt the next day from laughter. We also enjoyed a lot of phenomenal music includsing the video I posted at the beginning of my post - that particular video blew my fucking mind so hard.

At like 2am I IM injected 20mg of MXE. I am creeped out by needles and I was injecting super slowly because I was tripping and wanted to make sure I didn't bruise myself, I don't know how much it took but it felt like 5 minutes with the needle in my thigh. Right when I was finally done I had what I believe was a psychosomatic reaction to the needle phobia... I got faint, and broke out into a cold sweat across every inch of my body. I laid down but still felt bad so I ran outside into the fresh air, took my shirt off, and breathed in and out. The feeling went away and I began to feel really nice. Strangely the MXE didn't really dissociate me even a tiny bit. It just slowly crept up and made me feel even more sociable and smooth, it seemed to bring me more out of my head where I had been occasionally having trouble articulating my thoughts, into a place where speaking eloquently came so easily.

Eventually everyone went to bed and I was still awake. My girl surprise stopped by my house while I was out because she had gotten off work late and didn't want to drive home. So at like 5:30am I drove home and snuggled with her until 10am, not sleeping but utterly comfortable.

Then yesterday me and the same friends decided to go hiking since it was sunny and almost 70 degrees... my girl came with too. Recently she has started smoking with me, but not with friends in groups... she's finally comfortable enough with me. Well, yesterday we smoked a lot of bowls, there were 4 of us including me and her. She chilled and fully was part of the group and she smoked every bowl with us. It was so cool having her so integrated into the social group. I feel closer to her after the hike (in total we spent 7 hours outside). My 2 friends coming with each took a bit of AL-LAD, and I took nothing and drove, but was still riding on my great vibes from the night before since I hadn't slept. On the car trip there and back we listened to the newest jams we did (which I posted in this thread recently), and I am even happier with them now that I have listened to them harder and more times. The 2nd part of the 2nd track is really fucking good, it shocks me that we created it.

The hike was so refreshing... one guy with us was my friend the bass player I always play with, he grew up playing outside a lot but he's lived in Asheville for 1.5 years and has never managed to get out hiking or exploring. I think he appreciated so much that we basically forced him to come with us, it seemed to good for him. It was certainly good for me, this was the kickoff trip, there are MANY more to come this Spring/summer! I love where I live.

Oh yeah and when we were almost back these 2 old guys wearing grateful dead pins and shit stopped us to ask us some directions... Delsyd was wearing a shirt that says "Psychedelic - Old school 1969" with the psychedelic all across the chest. They started telling us stories about back in the day, and I'm pretty sure they were up to the exact same shenanigans as we were. It was a really fun human interaction.

Then after I got home we had sex a couple of times and made a shitload of food and as soon as I finished it I PASSED OUT harder than I have in a long time, and slept 10 hours. Feeling pretty drained today still but it was all so worth it. Weekends are for living life to the fullest and that was absolutely what I did during this past one.

Having administered well in excess of 600 IM injections on myself over the past 2 years, I completely understand what you felt, even if I never really have the same issue myself. I mean we are going against every self-preservation and harm avoidance instinct our minds can muster while we penetrate our body's primary line of defence with a foreign object for the purpose of injecting a foreign material solution into our muscle

What gauge needle are you using though? I assume likely a 27g 0.5" insulin syringe? Depending on how you feel, you might be able to avoid the anxiety of pushing the needle in by doing it quickly rather than slowly (personally I prefer slowly) - pick the spot on your skin you intend to pin, then in a similar motion to throwing a dart, swiftly jab the needle in sounds much worse than it is, and it gets it in MUCH quicker so there's less thinking about it.

now IV, you get a rush (and in the case of heroin, it significantly drives the cost down-i started shooting exclusively when i'd need to snort 3-5 bags to get good, which is ehh between 20 if you've got a good connect, which at the time i didn't have, although like right before i quit, i'dve gotten that for 20, for 3, to 50 tops for 5 bags right, so it was very expensive for a 4 hour high) and save money, IM has no rush as far as i know (i've skinpopped heroin before, no rush, but never IMd anything)..whats the point.
