So... crazy snow adventure yesterday. It snowed 5-6 inches last night. Me and my girl who is visiting again (every time there's snow apparently) went over to a friend's house who lives high in the mountains for dinner. We left right when it started snowing a little... I went the short way and stalled out because of snow still on the ground when I was quite close, then had to turn around and take the long way which was fine. We stayed for about 2 hours, the snow didn't look too bad yet from in his place. But when we got back to the car we noticed that the road was already covered in a half inch to an inch of powdery snow. I was nervous about driving but had to get back for work this morning, so I left, very carefully and slowly. I drove in first or second gear, giving it no gas or brake when at all possible. I was making good progress... some really hairy moments when it got a little steeper. There were some really steep drop-off on the side of the road but almost all of them have guard rails. In fact I slid and lightly fell into a guard rail, but it bounced me off and slowed me down and I kept going.
Then, RIGHT before it got down to the flat part where I would have been good, it was lower in elevation and the snow got wet underneath and I started sliding. Started picking up speed, trying to avoid hitting a tree, and I slid softly into a ditch on the side of the road, felt like falling into pillows because of the plants and snow, I am positive there's no damage. But I was stuck, with about 10% of my car still in the road, at the bottom of a hill/curve that's slippery. I called some tow trucks but no one was able to tow or even get there to simply put my car in-place back on the road for at least 3 hours, at which point there was going to be far too much snow for me to drive in. So, we decided to take off walking since we were near the main road, and hope to be able to hitch a ride (she has hitchhiked a lot and had good luck every time so far).
So we walked... we had just eaten a good dinner and actually felt really energized, I was prepared to walk the ~5 miles back to my house because I've never hitchhiked, but she convinced me to take a slightly longer way to get to a main road that is flat and was being plowed. My house is up a 2.5 mile uphill snowy road so we figured we'd have to walk that part, so we were just trying to get a ride down the 1.5 miles of main road. Well, within 2 minutes of stopping with our thumbs out, a guy in a brand new, huge SUV pulls up and asks if we need a ride. We get in and he introduced himself as Man Lee (yes that's his name). We quickly determine he's pretty crazy... he's driving around like there's no snow, chattering away ceaselessly but in a VERY friendly manner. He said he's just driving around for fun, getting high and listening to music (he was blasting Tupac). He's driving like there's no snow, zipping around people at like 45 MPH, making sudden stops... somehow his vehicle isn't sliding AT ALL. He said next he was going to go pick up his crack dealer friend from the ghetto (who only sells it, doesn't use it) and take him to get some Black & Milds... his goal is to drive around and help people in the snowy situation since he can drive. At one point when we were white-knuckling it during some crazed maneuver, he said "don't worry, I've wrecked a LOT, so I've learned what not do". Heh. He's a 50 year old successful business guy, maybe the friendliest type A personality I've ever met... he invited us to some forest outing with friends today, wanted to give me his number (he forgot though, plus he unnerved me a little). He offered us 90% cacao chocolate within 30 seconds of getting in the car.
Anyway he drove us straight home, no problem whatsoever getting up the snowy mountain road or my really steep street. I had him drop us off a short walk from my house, he talked our ears off for like 5 more minutes before we got out, and he shook my hand like 3 times, and offered to drive us around tomorrow (today) if we need it. We got inside and spent a few minutes adjusting to the fact that we hadn't gotten home at 11 after walking 5 miles, and then pretty much mauled each other for a while... got up, started making cookies, and then I smoked a little... and then she smoked too, it was the first time we've actually smoked together which was awesome. Then the cookies were done and we had sex again, really, really good sex. I always think sex is better when I'm high because like with other things it's easier to get into, but it was even way better when we both were.
Bummer I had to leave my car in a ditch on the side of the road though... I really hope someone hasn't slid into it. Oh well, my top priority was getting home, I'd have probably had to sleep in that car because the tow trucks I called both never called me back all night. All in all it was the best case scenario though... there was no way I was getting home. Well I guess best case would have been to park it in the grocery store parking lot at the bottom of the last road, but worst case was tumbling down a mountainside so I'm happy about the outcome. And actually it was really fun.
Also a bonding thing for me and her, going through an adventure that had strong survival elements to it. Man if I wanted a girlfriend right now it would be her, she's pretty ideal, sexy and cool and SUPER chill at all times.
I don't like them much either. Subtle effects usually, and they make me feel less alive somehow. I do like etizolam though, it's the only one I ever tried that I liked the feeling of. Makes me feel high and euphoric instead of apathetic and less alive.

i hate benzos. while i'm on them it seems like they're barely doing anything, but they definitely alter my behavior a lot. and then when they wear off there's a big mood rebound and i get super irritable. if they didn't have that rebound they would almost barely be worth taking, despite not being all that enjoyable. but that mood rebound afterward just kills it for me.
