🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 PD Social Thread 2022-2026 v. Year of the Phenethylamine

^personally, I’ve had horrific sides effects. That’s just me to be honest but it taints my picture. I cannot unexperience those side effects.

the biggest issue with SSRI's IMHO is that they just aren't really very effective most of the time at doing much of anything. In this light in the context of already depressed people being handed another bunch of even minor problems and disappointment at the medicine not working
Exactly. When major meta analyses find that they are no more effective for depression than an active placebo, then I question their use as first line treatments. We know that some people experience permanent sexual dysfunction, and others experience suicidal behaviors. Even if rare, I think those are substantial risks when weighed against medications that aren't likely to be helpful (for depression. Outcomes for GAD are better.) I would rather see transcranial magnetic stimulation, ultrasound, other medications, you name it first.

I can honestly say as we get older the stresses of life does build up in the body. Much more than when we are younger. It take a week on a beach to calm ourselves at best we get to do 5 minute calming breathing exercises which don't work when the body is spun from years of stress.
Yeah man. I've learned that "What doesn't kill you makes life harder."

What's up everyone? Long time no see for some.

I finished my first week on day shift the other day, after three years of nights. I've been averaging significantly better sleep and been feeling just overall less depressed and angry.

Yesterday I tripped psilacetin while my wife worked (she works from home) first thing in the morning and it was a good time. I hadn't tripped during daylight, or when my wife is awake, in at least three years. Gave me enough time to drink and sober up by the time she was off work and we were winding down for bed.

I'm very glad to be on days now because I was losing my ever loving mind on nights, just losing so, so much sleep. Now on day shift I'm so busy and stressed at work but when my head hits that pillow, I'm out cold and nobody wakes me up. Worth the trade off I'd say.

If everything works as planned, I'll be tripping on metocin & maybe 5-APB on an asian beach soon.

2-3 months of traveling (part time solo, part time with a new friend I like a lot).

Let's hope it'll change my life as much as my last long trip did.

I prefer it. I don't think I'll take it orally again. That said, the onset rectally is fast, so that's not the way to go if you want to ease into it
I don't think I'll take it rectally again. Haven't taken a psychedelic any other way than oral for a while and this strapped to a rocket ship of 10 mg rectal 2C-T-2 was a bit disorienting and much. But now settling in nicely. Sadly it kept the nausea from a big meal I had hoped to skip by this ROA.

Until we are old and beaten up. :p But yeah, I always feel good when I come out of hard times. I may have ptsd because of the roughness but I am always guarded by a shield of glory.

Love this guy, we need more people to bridge science and psychedelics. Nick Herbert is no slouch on the science end. He wrote a book called Quantum Reality. It is a bit heady. But we need more people to take a stab at marrying the physical world with the mental.

Judging by how many psychedelics going through clinical trials at the moment are based on the tryptamine scaffold, I feel it would befitting to call it the year of the Tryptamine

Anyone else lose power for three days straight? It got down to the 30s F in our home. Could see our breath when we exhaled. Had to blanket off all the doors to the middle part of the house and use candles and hot water to keep one room warm.

I slept with two layers and a beanie on each night and four to five blankets and still felt cold.

Scariest three days I’ve had in years. Maybe my life.

Day 30 without alcohol, cannabis, or nicotine—all of which I used to use almost daily. I'm not going to start using nicotine pouches again, as they’ve become ridiculously expensive due to taxes and it’s now illegal to order them from abroad.

I've been going to the pool 4–6 times a week and have swum over 35 kilometers this month. I can now swim 3,000m pretty easily and have done some 3,500m swims too. I’m probably in the best shape of my life right now, and I’m going to keep going. I love swimming because it's so technical; you learn something new every day. I swim freestyle. It's a lot easier to train when you're not always hungover :)

Just had my blood work done. I'm expecting some good results after being so healthy lately and having swum for five months already.

I've been swimming a lot too lately @xammy feels good. Not as much as you - averaging 1x per week, usually around 2500m. I used to race when I was a kid so I have good form and good speed for my age, which makes it easier. The pool I go to has a very hot sauna as well, I usually can only handle about 15mins in there after my swim, it's so stinking hot. I always tell myself that I will do 20min but after 15 I just can't take any more. There's a cold shower for after and that's really shocking to go into but it makes me feel good for the rest of the day.

Only when I lived in Houston. ;) Hurricane Alicia. I gave up coffee for 3 days. Anyone that says caffeine withdrawal is not bad was not with me those 3 days.

Good to see people posting. I have to say I think I am losing my mind. My only goal at the moment is to get a squirrel to eat nuts out of my hand. Had one come with 2 feet of me but he chickened out. I also understand though while I may be losing my mind, linking up with nature is a sure fire way to not lose my mind.

I’ll just say that instant coffee is a very poor substitute, especially black since the milk went bad.

So glad all our reptiles survived the freeze though. We got everyone to eat their food this last week and all the snakes and geckos look like they’re in good health. Big scare though.

Do you like amphibians too @Cream Gravy? or more on the reptile side? What reptiles do you have? I've always been a huge herpetophile myself but sadly I don't have an that I keep. Finding amphibians and reptiles in the wild is one of my favourite things.

I had 10mg of 2C-E on saturday night for a warehouse rave, my god such good music and such a good substance for enjoying such good music

We’ve got two crested geckos, one African fat tail, a corn snake, and an albino ball python.

I took 11mg+14mg Psilacetin today and tripped hard. Drank pretty hard and watched lots of films. Blacked out for most of Ex Machina unfortunately.

Love having the home to myself. Dog is sleeping in the bed with me.

What's everyone up to? I'm fixin' to go to work in a bit for my last twelve of the week then I'll be off till the weekend.
