🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 PD Social Thread 2022-2025 v. Year of the Phenethylamine

TFW you buy two hundred dollars worth of non-returnable nitrous for a bachelor party only to discover when you get there that you've got a bad gasket. smdh

Hey, random question but how many of you clean your mobile devices with alcohol wipes or solutions or whatnot?

I just remembered those things are ten times dirtier than a toilet and I'm confused about how people approach hygiene nowadays.

Do you have a tank or something.

Was looking into buying one there is a delivery service in NY that fills them with food grade., I'd love to have a 10lber I could take to the dome couple times a month. I'd literally do balloons non-stop besides a few breaths between so my face don't go blue. I can burn through hundreds of chargers in a few hour, it's pretty expensive even buying bulk boxes of 600 at a time... problem with the tank is I'd have to get my girl to fill it at her place, and how could we explain that to the kids.

Honestly I never even think about it. But I'm not one to worry too much about that kind of stuff. A clean freak... I am not.

I'm not a clean freak either but it is absolutely bizarre that people clean themselves habitually but do not realize they're topsyturvy with their machinery. You're talking to a person who has drunk his own urine to get the most out of Amanita Muscaria, I've had some perspectives on cleanliness. The fact is that we pretend the source of contamination vectors is not the object but ourselves. It's insane. You don't eat on the lid of your own toilet, do you? It's a tech-fetishist blind-sight that the very source of the filth is ignored. Wouldn't it make much more sense to clean our devices as much as we clean ourselves??

Like once a week with soap and water wash cloth. Alcohol is fine, too. Just whenever I'm in the bathroom and think about it. More often than I clean my steering wheel, which is probably just as dirty. *shrug* I'm not much of a germophobe.

No, I don't use enough nitrous to warrant a tank. I like my B12, and nitrous doesn't do anything to me when I'm not tripping anyway. It just makes me feel a little light-headed.

I'm so far behind on my LAVA "Dream Journal" thread that I've been posting about 3 every couple of days until I get caught up.

Please feel free to contribute if you have any interesting dreams to share, because I love reading them but lately almost all of the posts on there have been mine.

Sweet Dreams!!!

I've been trying to implement a featured threads "slider" for PD... it works pretty well for desktop, but for mobile, at least on my device, it doesn't work. I narrowed it down to the asynchronous GET request using jquery $.get just not firing, or at least not succeeding. So I hid the whole thing for screen size under the mobile breakpoint. Shame... I'd love to find a way to make that work for mobile. But how do you guys feel about it (f you can see it)?

Actually it's come to my attention that you guys probably can't see the thread links cycling through the new little area below the main forum header. Is that true? Unless you're PD mods, that is. Gotta take a different approach, if that's the case. let me know, please!

Of course they can't see it mate. It has to be able to load on their page somehow.

the thing that gets on my nerve (love you CFC ;)) of naming things after himself ("CFCdiv1"),

The thing that gets on my nerve is people who don't think very deeply about why something may have been done in a certain way by others (love you Xorky ;))

lol, foot in mouth disease activated... for context though, a few pages back we were talking coding and I was talking about an old coworker of mine who named all his variables with his name... kurt1, kurt2, etc, and how it makes code hard to read.

But I still feel like an ass now! :butt2:

Yah probably a sign that extending my O-PCE binge to 10g or sumn has been a bit too much mind wandering around random corners.

Don't.

All due respect, @CFC, why not target objects in the DOM through either a more qualified path or via semantically useful class name or ID if necessary? Naming a <div> element "CFCdiv1" or "kurt1" is not helpful nor best practices. I appreciate that it's volunteer status code, so you get what you get, and I for one am thankful and grateful to all the people who've donated their time and efforts to the site. But I'm saying, let's be honest here, lol. This !== friendly to other devs.

As a point of fact, I have great respect for what you wrote in the forum headers, CFC. I learned a ton about what you can do in them by reading your code, and your work singlehandedly pushed Bluelight into the future and I appreciate the hell out of it. The naming convention is such a trivial thing and I only even mentioned it due to a brief sense of frustration I was experiencing right then because I couldn't keep straight what was what because of how it was named. But truly, the last thing I ever intended was to hurt your feelings or make you feel disrespected. Because I respect the fuck out of you. <3

Last night on a whim I took 10mg psilacetin and had quite a few cocktails with it. The come-up was jarring and uncomfortable, I had a lot of nagging anxiety due to real stressors though as the trip went on, I was able to gradually convince myself of how fruitless my immediate anxiety was at the moment. Nothing I could do to fix things so I finally let go and enjoyed the ride courtesy of the booze and some etizolam.

Overall it was a mad decent trip considering how stressed I am; I've had several deaths in my life recently, my wife and I are house hunting and realizing how little house we can truly afford, we're trying to move into a new home within a year and that's causing much stress. Yet, somehow I let go for a bit last night. Was it the booze or etiz? Maybe. But I was glad to let go of my worries during a psychedelic state and finally enjoy it again.

^ I can so resonate with the stress. It gets worse the older I get. It sort of builds up in the body. I had high hopes for this summer. See some music, get a few trips in. Not so. I got a bad case of sciatica (which thankfully is calming down) and had to rush my wife to the hospital with a heart attack. They say to only use benzos when needed. Well I am glad I did save them. In the hospital days my sciatica was at its worst and I actually took etizolam 4 days in a row. Small doses, 1 mg at dinner and 1 mg before bed. Almost went a 5th day but reminded myself how easy it is to get into a routine of eating dinner and sleeping on the couch afterwards. But thankfully I never pushed it with benzos. Saving them for these stressful times really helps. And I consider a heart attack scenario a benzo day. After those 4 days I did not touch them again for 10 days. When I use then for trip come downs I usually wait until about 5 hours after 4-ACO-DMT though. Brings me right down at that point. I think those trips are about over after 4 1/2 hours anyway Psilacetin is short, perfect for older people lol

So yeah, high hopes for the summer. I did get a strong 4-ACO-DMT trip in June (22 mgs) and a strong almost break through DMT trip (20 mgs) at the end of July. Other than that I have been curled up in a ball trying to shut out life until things get better. I never knew stress could build up so much. I am the guy I use to make fun of when I was younger, the guy so stressed on life for silly reasons. Yet there it is and no amount of thinking my way out works.

Yeah aging is great. But I notice we are all aging. ;) I actually value the perspective of people I have been conversing with for years as they age.

We celebrated my guitar player's birthday last night. Had such a good time, he went to see a show earlier in the evening and invited the band over afterwards. They came and we jammed for like 4 hours. It went SO well, everyone was on point. Afterwards, they told me that it was "by far" the best jam session they'd ever been a part of in their entire lives. Apparently they'd never played with a keyboard player before. We were spontaneously coming up with songs, one of the guys was singing some lyrics he'd written but not made into songs yet. It was like we were playing songs we all knew, I'm used to the group mind thing that happens when jamming but this was pretty next level.

Stayed up until 6am and slept until 2pm,my girlfriend was worried sick, for some reason I couldn't get reception all night and all day today until I got near my house. So she couldn't reach me and my phone was going straight to voice mail.
