I think the most versatile weapon ever made is the standard issue m16-a2 service rifle with the m203 grenade launcher attachment. It's an extremely accurate short and mid- range weapon, the ammo is light so you can carry more, and the grenade launcher attachment enables you to launch grenades 30-40 feet or more. It's F'ing ridiculous. :D

I wish I could take one of these bad boys turkey hunting :D

How do you rate the plastic SA80-a British Army standard issue?

The m16 is a more delicate weapon that needs a lot more care than the SA80. It needs to be kept very clean to avoid jamming problems.

The m16 can be fired from both shoulders vs the SA80 which is strictly limited to firing from the right shoulder. The m16 is superior in the sense that it is longer than the sa80 which makes it more conducive to effective use of the bayonet. The sa80 is superior in the sense that it is shorter and easier to wield in urban combat environments.

Both are good weapons, just different. Its a trade-off really. I will say that American servicemen spend as much as 3x more time on average cleaning their weapons than servicemen from other countries, specifically because the m16 needs to be flawlessly clean to hold up under the stress of a firefight without jamming.

makes mine look like a piece of shit

I heard the SA80 has jamming problems especially in the heat (iraq, afganistan much) but can be carried through water without issue
