I am decidedly pro-life and have been for many years, it is a no-brainer for me, the only question that I think is relevant in the whole debate relates to whether life begins at concept, or at some other point.

Whether life begins at concept or not only affects your stance on abortion IF you assume that ending a life is immoral, or sinful.

And even if you do, you must consider that bringing a new life into the world at a time in which the planet is unarguably overpopulated is actually indirectly causing death by spreading our resources too thin.

I think that no matter what your moral stance, there is strong support for abortion.

But we as human beings were, indeed, built to pass on our genes, and protect our offspring, so that's something to keep in mind too.

Excellent point. :)

I haven't slept in, like, 36 hours. I'm kinda tripping out. It's weird. The white text box that I'm typing into on the computer screen looks like the rippling surface of a puddle of shiny oil.....

There is something strangely attractive about this mindstate.

hahahaah

Sounds interesting, I don't think I've ever stayed awake that long before lol.

Why haven't you slept?

i call that fairyland

my favorite =D

Woke up this morning/afternoon, discovered that I managed to get vomit in my ear and up my nose. Thanks DXM 8), at least I had a wondrously dissociative time last night.

I could never do that, well I have, but I don't find sleep deprivation to be attractive in the least. I like to get between 8 to 10 hours of sleep per night, thank you very much.

Yeah, I quite like it too, I tend to laugh maniacally, its good :)

at around the 50 hour mark sleep becomes very tempting.

and the planet is NOT overpopulated by any means.
just incredibly badly managed.

you could fit every single man woman and child on the planet into Australia, each with their own little plot
of land to live and grow their own food on,
and still have an area the size of New South Wales, as well as the rest of the planet,
completely EMPTY.

so the oligarchial argument that "the planet is overpopulated" is just false.
the resources are spread too thin because it is badly managed. (sometimes it seems deliberately so)
poor get poorer, rich get richer, those at the top of the pyramid control the rest of the bricks that lay below...

having empty space =/= room for growth. overpopulation has more to do with food, water, etc... resources than population per square mile.

at the moment our planet is beyond overpopulated.

...

Not true at all- most of Australia is completely barren desert. In the interior, it barely rains, there are very few rivers/watering holes, poor quality soil and very little wildlife and, of what there is, very little that is edible in any true sense. We have kangaroos, but to feed all of Australia with kangaroos would require the slaughter of tens of millions per year; which is unsustaniable.

Almost all Australian cities hug the coast, and farming is mainly viable in the south-east (Victoria and parts of New South Wales). North is tropical, west is dry and arid and the centre is lifeless. Hunter-gatherer societies could flourish, but 6 billion (and counting) people could never live in Australia. Its like saying that the same amount could live in Anctartica; Australia is truly inhospitable, what with very little rainfall and utter desolation within. Its beautiful though, but that isn't going to help the world.

You could probably fit every person in the world into the USA, but space doesn't mean that people can actually live. The world is overpopulated.

do you freestyle at all nearjat?

Kind of, most of the stuff I write here is slightly slower kind of a freestyle. But a couple buddies of mine are recorder rappers (not very good ones :P) and if I've got some liquor in me I'll spit some shit haha. I just love hip hop, all parts of it. Emceein', graffiti, break dancing all that shit..

"Down through the centuries the notion that life is rounded in a dream
has been a pervasive theme of philosophers and poets.
So doesn't it make sense that death, too, would be wrapped in dream?
That after death, your conscious life would continue,
in what might be called a dream body?
It would be the same dream body you experience in your everyday dream life,
except that in the post-mortal state - you could never again wake up.
Never again return to your physical body."

I really liked that poem at the top of this page, nearjat.

Got a link to anywhere you keep this stuff?

I love wake and bakes, it is one of my favorite things, but it leaves me feeling retarded all day, and I can't have that. So many weekends down the tubes like that.

You need a stronger Sativa man. I have that problem (along with tiredness obviously) after hitting an Indica or a fairly even hybrid, but if I smoke a pure Sativa or Sativa-dominant strain it really lifts me up, feels very clear headed and euphoric, gives me a great start to the day, and doesn't fill my head with fog.

Sativas are for wake and bakes and midday smokes, Indicas are for evening/before bed smokes.

If anyone here knows much about obtaining US citizenship, please drop me a PM. I'm looking at various options for what I do next right now, and could use a little help/advice.

Roger, a couple days back I remembered your post about how amazing it is to play music, and it made me dig out my electric guitar and start afresh, I'm finally making a proper effort to learn again now.

One thing I have problems with at the moment is strumming chords. I can strum 6 string chords fine, same for 3, but 4 and 5 string chords usually end with me either not holding one of the strings down enough and that string not being played, or me missing a string when strumming. Any useful tips? Haha. Maybe it's just lack of practice.

Awesome birthday! Saturday night I ended up getting black out drunk early on in the night and apparently was a riot. Thanks piracetam for your interaction with alcohol... 8) I didn't think much of it when I dosed 2grams before work. I was just trying to get my day started with a clear head.

Yesterday I was extremely hungover, but managed to go out to eat with some friends and have a great time. Came back here and dosed up on 70mg of hydrocodone through out the night.

Sadly though, this morning i woke up with the need to puke (which I did multiple times). I'm thinking it was in part caused by the cough suppressant properties, as a lot of what I puked up was snot/spit.

Hope everyone is well.

I'm very well glad you had a great birthday man :) Ugh i hate the day after pukes from opiates. Is it actually from the cough supressing properties? That makes sense because a lot of times I've been totally unable to cough even when I tried and swallowing was impossible without drinking something. Lots of mucus in my tummy+ opiate nausea = baaaad

I'm done with crappy mass produced coffee. I just got some freshly roasted Guatemalan beans from the local Bean Traders...so delicious.

Yum.
