You know, with all the booze I actually did enjoy myself a bit before going to bed, and the hangover was much milder than expected. So hooray for that!

I had planned on spending the evening at the library of a local university reading about the prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him), but they were closed so I ended up wandering around aimlessly for a while. Tomorrow at least I'll be able to cash that check I wasn't expecting to get and...I dunno, get some gas, scotch, buy some things at the 99cent store and go out to eat.

Also, what's up with this heat wave, wasn't I wearing a jacket two weeks ago? Now it's in 80s in my room after midnight, wtf. I'm pretty sure it's like 10 degrees cooler outside than it is in here. This darned room always seems to be more uncomfortable than the weather on the outside.

It's been a week and a half since I tripped, but then I went a little nuts with dosage, so hopefully tonight things'll go more smoothly.

I'm thinking ~20mg 4-Aco-DMT and 20mg 4-HO-MET, and then going from there. Should be a magical night!

So i was tripping in the park yesterday and this guy sitting all the way across this field keeps pointing towards me as if trying to get my attention, making "i see you" guestures and such seemingly at me from across the park. I ignored him, and eventually he walks across the field and mutters "We've got to stop meeting like this" as he goes past me, then he loops around and on his way back past he's like "before it's too late!" and keeps going, then when he gets back across the field he sits down and points at me some more.

Obviously it was just some crazy guy in the park and i just happened to be tripping but it was still weird as hell.

Last time I did a bunch of ketamine out in public some guy on the train walked up to me and my friend and sputtered something about being cured of addiction by the holy flower, or something to that effect. Weird people are extra weird if you're fucked up, because it's even more difficult to process and dismiss their insanity.

On a separate note, I WAS going to try 20mg each of 4-Aco-DMT and 4-HO-MET tonight, but I just received some methylone surprising early. Wondering what to do, as I want to do them all, but possibly space it out a bit. Any suggestions? I'll note that I will be going out to a big (but strange and accepting) party.

Oh believe me, i know all to well about trying to process the insanity of other people while tripping, since moving to san fran. At least like 2-3 out of 10 people or so in the park have done WAY to many mind altering drugs and/or been homeless for too long, and they are fuckin' nuts out of their gords. It's really strange being around so many people who can't properly comprehend anything, yet incredibly interesting too.

Lol, my mood is nice, dosed 4-MeO-MiPT ~30 minutes ago. Suprisingly pleasant compound.

How are you, PD?

wtfff

Hey Willow, how different is this compared to the way you produce? Just curious, the video is kinda long so if you don't feel like watching it that is understandable, it is pretty cool though, IMO. :)

^Was interesting...I dunno, I guess I always know what I'm trying to do when I make a tune, so I'd have done similar things for the build up (ie. white noise smash though I use pink noise... pitch rising stuff, filters opening etc) so its similar but different too (ha, ambiguous answer)...

Hoo, I'm tired.....

:)

^White noise is all frequencies played at the same time with an amplitude boost around 1kHz-3kHz, the frequency range the human is ear is most attuned to. Pink noise is all frequencies at the same time with no boost anywhere. White noise sounds a lot higher pitched; pink noise sounds duller. I just prefer pink noise because it means you have no artificial volume rises so its easier to mix. If you used a really resonant filter on white noise, you get a steep boost (ringing/resonance) at the frequency range I mentioned.

That said, I would tend to turn pink noise into white noise with filters, but its just preferable for me to start with all things equal.

One thing I do when making music is use a lot of EQ and compression, even when just composing. I don't know if its a good or bad thing, but I really like to get levels even before gettting into the meat of things.

The delay thing that Tom Cosm did; have delay set in microsecond range and make it faster and slower is an awesome technique for getting really odd, whirling noises happening. Its a staple of darkpsy artists like Cosmo....It sounds cool if you play a kick sample (just once) and have delay set at about 100ms, with high feedback, and over the space of maybe 1 second, wind the delay time to 1ms. Its like an artefact of our hearing that as two identical sounds are repeated and get closer to being played in unison, we hear the time shift as pitch changing (the doppfler effect). Thats why flangers, which are really delay units with delay times under about 15ms give you a pitch changing illusion; also chorus effects (which are also delay effects) though the delay time is often around 30ms, but changing by 5ms up or down detunes the original sound and gives it that typical, fatter chorus sound...

Pianos generally work in that way; you have the hammer hitting two strings detuned by a few centitones (which can be converted into a time/frequency shift) have their typical sound....

Also a good idea if you are playing a synth and using perhaps two oscillators with the same wave form is to detune each by the same amount; oscillator A could be detuned by 5centitones down, and the other 5 centintones up- gives you a really familiar, techy sound....
