Like, the whole gamut of drugs? All in the same place? You speak madness, the clashing styles, it would be interesting, I don't like it. K-holing folk strewn across the floor, tweakers in the midst of some amphetamine induced mania, annoyed people on opiates who just want to chill the fuck out, belligerent/silly drunks and people on barbs or whatever, stoners eating snacks, so hectic. Too hectic. Sounds like a wretched hive of scum and villainy and hedonism. No repose or elegance at all.
 
Not all in one establishment, but you could probably have a pretty good business if you just sold a drug and provided an environment appealing to users of that droog
like bars, except for "illegal" drugs/chemicals
 
I dont think an establishment selling benzos/barbs would be a particularly good idea, however. I know when i "overdosed" on temazepam, i thought i was 100% fine, so i remember taking more, then after that i remember waking up in my bed 3 days later after having been to the hospital.
The issue with benzos/barbs is they seem to be a LOT more prone to causing blackouts than alcohol. and at least, IME, benzos (never done barbiturates..) tend to make you think you're fine moreso than alcohol, as in, generally when someone is really piss drunk, they know it, its only when people are like.."borderline drunk" if you know what i mean that they think theyre fine...Benzos IME I've always thought I'm fine unless I'm completely stumbling, or I'll think "oh i can act sober if i have to". Benzo/Barb bars i think would just lead to a lot of either a. overdoses or B. driving related fatalities or C. Possibly crime (like theft...it seems benzos make people who wouldnt normally steal and whatnot, steal)
I'm not saying benzos cause crime, but nothing impairs judgement quite like benzos IME, and if i get it right, some people when they blackout on benzos can be relatively functional (eg. no slurred speech, can walk) but are actually extremely impaired and whatnot. The only time i really blacked out was the temazepam incident, and my mom said she knew i wasnt sober. She said she originally thought i was drunk but there is NO alcohol in our house so she knew it mustve been pills.
 
^^^ I definitely agree, benzos are sneaky like that. With alcohol, if you're *really* drunk, the physical effects are plenty obvious, but with benzos you can easily convince yourself you're totally sober when you're actually shotally titfaced.

I suppose, barbs are recreational enough that they could be used in a dance-party like establishment no problem. Well, there would be problems, but in my theoretical world, everything works out fine.

Hm, I'm feeling somewhat hypomanic, if you haven't noticed, I'm totally sober though. Theory: I've been drinking a bit more than I should lately, and today was my first day of cutting back, so it may be rebound symptoms, my natural GABA is having trouble keeping everything inhibited. Makes sense, no?

Wouldn't make much money, nobody would remember that cool place they went friday night!

Ugh.. my mental health assessment went exactly the way I was hoping it would not. I explained what was troubling me and what I wanted to do about it, and as soon as I mentioned drugs she starts name-dropping Hazelden (famous treatment center I live near). I explained I had already been through 12 step based treatment more than once and wish to treat the underlying "fuel" instead but even with that, her recommendation sheet had nothing but Hazelden and three other substance abuse counselors on it... The only attention she gave to every other problem I mentioned was that I request a prescription for antidepressant/anti-anxiety medication from my general doctor. Maybe I'm being a hard head about something but that sounds like a garbage assessment to me. I'm pretty sure SSRIs or other meds like Celexa aren't going to help me develop a healthier world view (another goal I specifically told her).

Well no sense in getting all pissed about one free visit, off to talk to someone else. I'm sure I'll eventually find someone who "gets" what I'm looking for.

...and I can't for the life of me figure out how to assign that +2 oxidation state to Pt without just adding it in via text (which massively complicates the copy/paste into ms word process lol). F'ing chemdraw is terrible with converting names of inorganic compounds to structures and vice versa.

Nah man I don't. However this should be somewhat unnecessary with most compounds as just by looking at the substituents and overall charge of the complex the oxidation state of the central metal ought to be clear. Though of course it is nice to indicate it. What You could do is just put something like Pt(II) as the central atom.
 
What up PD?

I just got back from some hiking/backpacking in SE Utah. A buddy and I spent a day roaming Canyonlands' Island in the Sky district with the accompaniment of some high quality LSD. We dropped in the early afternoon and wandered through this enchanting, alien landscape.

Deep canyons expose hundreds of millions of years of sediment.

The trip alternated between giddy laughter and austere reverence, occasionally reaching states of sublimity.

We returned to mesa arch after the tourists had all left, just after sundown, and watched a full moon rise above this vast canyon.

SE Utah is an absolutely spectacular place...everyone should put Canyonlands/Arches national parks on their list of things to do before you die.

Word thats how I have been perceiving it lately as I have thought about seeing a doctor and what they have to offer.

What's up Solistus how ya been? I was at sxsw last week. Did you go at all?

IME a large percentage of "mental health" treatment is frighteningly generic. I've always gotten the vibe from that industry that they're driven by the basic assumption that there shouldn't be any differences between anyone ever.
 
There is indeed.
But my opinion is that most droogz...use will become abuse, just a matter of time
i iznt saying i dont abuse shit, i'm just saying relying on a droog for shit like comfort or happiness is kinda..dumb
me is slightly guilty of that, dont get me wrong though.
 
^ Agreed. But again, when you take drug for an appointed period of time, it is different.

You take anti-cough medication only while you're ill, don't you?
