Yesterday after a long night of tripping and partying, I woke up with the weirdest thing... my uvula (the dangly thing at the back of your throat) was quite swollen, to the point where it affected my speech and got in the way of swallowing. It was only a bit sore, but it looked crazy and was pretty puzzling, especially since I felt absolutely fine. Now today it's not swollen at all but my throat is starting to get sore right around there and I feel a bit under the weather. So I guess it's time for cold round 3 in the past 6 months.
Also, recently my girlfriend woke up in my bed with a really sore back. She'd mentioned to me before on several occasions that my bed was hurting her back, but I didn't realize she meant like, actually hurting it. She spent the next 2 days in pretty severe pain, to the point where her back has never hurt that bad before. It's feeling mostly better now but she is afraid to sleep in my bed again... obviously that's not good for me. I mean I spent the night at her place last night but I want her to be able to do the same at my place still. I have a nice mattress but it's 10 years old and honestly it isn't the best for my back either, it's really soft which I like but that reduces the support, plus it's starting to get saggy. So, time for a new mattress. Sucks to have an extra expense, but sometimes you have to do it. Fortunately one of my really good friends has a crazy connection for wholesale mattresses and just started a business, and when visiting home I helped him set up his shop. He's going to give me an insane deal on a nice mattress, the only thing is, I have to ship it here (700 miles away). I'm going to look into what that costs, does anyone have any idea what that might be?
Have been learning to fix things on my car, due mostly to necessity. Have never kept one long enough without wrecking it before to have to do kany repairs...
Being able to do brake pads/rotors yourself for ~$200 for all four instead of $600-$1000 at a shop is a nice feeling.
For real. I'm going to do my front brake pads with my friend tomorrow, He showed me how to do it last time I needed to change brake pads and I could do it myself except I don't have the tools. It's such a money saver. Between 2 of my good friends, I actually have people who can help me with a lot of stuff.
