I suppose my point is just that, for something that is simply an annoyance, and not life-threatening, such as a headache, it's unnecessary and possibly harmful to turn to drugs. Yes, you might be more comfortable in the short term if you pop a pill to soothe your pains, but if you live a life of constantly gobbling drugs for everything from mild insomnia to headaches to coughing to Restless Leg Syndrome, it can't be healthy in the long run.
Mm yes when you put it that way it's a very good point. I tend to shy away from cold medicine myself as it's not doing anything to help your cold get better and I'd rather just let my body be as undrugged as possible while fighting a cold (though when I feel miserable and there things to do, symptomatic relief it is). Headaches on the other hand I have a hard time not just taking some advil. There's often too many things I need or want to be able to focus on without an aching head to interfere.
