Perhaps you should set an example as to what should go in this thread. I'm really not sure what counts as a psychedelic momento.

I'm still very confused about what a psychedelic momento is, how we will leave a map to a website or who these others are who will find this thread. I'm pretty sure any extra-terrestrial civilization with the technology to access, decode and then read arbitrary content on the internet would have little trouble gathering other info, and they would have already found PD by definition if they're reading content posted here. Or is this more of a time capsule thing, like preserving knowledge and culture of our sub-community for posterity? Is this supposed to be finalized and then reproduced elsewhere to lead people here? Seems like a neat (albeit probably chemically inspired ; ) idea, just not quite sure what that idea is.

We were talking earlier about how BL is so public then sega chimed in by saying "hello!" to any teachers,students, reporters, law enforcement that may be looking at this. Then I thought about how what we say here on BL will be around for the public to see for years to come. Which somehow reminded me of the Voyager record which contained a map to earth, music and a greeting and was shot into space.

So I responded to sega with the above comment
 
I see. So it's for people who stumble upon BL to get a better idea of what we're all about as a community and as people rather than just a repository of drug information? Neato.

Maybe an organized thread with a community statement and some important details edited into the OP, with members then encouraged to reply with their own personal messages to any visitors, would be a good way to move this project forward? The way I see it, what we would want to accomplish is to provide a nice, personal welcome to friendly visitors like Erowid editors looking for info here, and perhaps to get other less sympathetic folks who stumble upon our community to have a more open mind and see that, far from being a bunch of crooks and degenerates, we are a community of intellectually curious and friendly individuals looking to share and express ourselves as well as providing a valuable information source with a focus on harms reduction. We're not gonna get LEOs who search BL to abandon their life of fighting for prohibition with a forum post, of course, but maybe we can lead at least a couple would-be hostile or at least unsympathetic visitors to challenge their own preconceptions about what 'people like us' are actually like and what role we might be able to play in a healthy society once the misinformation and fear is stripped away, and help visitors with an undecided opinion on us and our activities reach an understanding of why we do what we do, both in terms of the content posted on BL and the common lifestyle choices that have led us all here.

We could brainstorm here and now then organize something later on if you like
 
Sol, i was thinking along the lines of a finalized thread of mementos as in bardo's post, words of wisdom,
things that inspire goodness in whomever may find the thread.
