PCP to PCC

I was reading with great alarm that 4MeO PCP has a habit of being changed to a chemical called PCC which is some form of cyanide & that if a dose did not have a strong plastic smell to it that you should throw it away or even worse if it had a smell of almonds there was a high chance it could be allready doses with some highly toxic form of cyanide.

I got told this by a very close freind & he showed me several things from the internet that seemed to back this view up, If anyone could give more info on it I would be very glad as I have been using noted chemical on a regular basis for several months now & have noticed I get a very bad cough & terrible lung flem after dosing the next day, I am no genius on the feects of low doses of cyanine but any more info on what PCC is or how it can turn to cyanide would be gladly recieved.

Thanks

The phenylcyclohexanecarbonitrile (PCC) is a precursor, not a decomposition product. 4-meo-pcp (or even normal pcp) does not spontaneously change to the nitrile.

Unless you had a shitty synthesis, you should not worry about PCC.

To put personal concerns to bed, there is a simple reagent you can prepare and use to test for cyanide presence:

Take 0.1gr steel wool and dissolve in 5ml concentrated hydrochloric acid. This prepares a test reagent for cyanide. Then dissolve 0.1gr of your to be tested arylcyclohexylamine in there. Wait a few minutes. If an intense dark blue color appears (prussian blue) your sample contained a PCC like contaminant or similar cyanide contaminant. Under no circumstances should attempts be made to recover the drug, leave the tap running and pour the liquid with the stream into the sink to dispose, avoiding to breathe the air near the tube. This will put personal concerns about PCC like contamination to bed.

from Asante in the 4-MeO-PCP dandy thread. Hope this reassures you.

you sir need to learn some chemistry too.
most nitriles are actually not very 'benign'. some of them are metabolised to hydrogen cyanide and some are almost as toxic. the main pathway of metabolism for most nitriles is... oxidation to hydrogen cyanide! a compound that has a RDA in the fucking micrograms is the exception not the rule.

PCC actually has a lower ld50 than PCP does. as a result its presence in pcp as an impurity markedly increases the lethality. if you would like to treat yourself to some PCC go right ahead and do it.

nitriles are hydrolised by acidic conditions to amines, or can be hydrogenated to 1' amines. so theres 2 wayys you could clean it up. reflux with hcl seems the nicest, but do it ina a hood if you want to live.

I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the chair.

Just because I am no chemist he takes some swipe at me with his higher I.Q. yet falls flat on his face.

Epic fail szuko000, take note from sekio & learn some chemistry yourself.
