PCP Addiction

I'm not saying I can't think of any examples, but did you have any specific examples in mind of how a weed addiction could cause problems when you said that? I can only think of very low risk examples that nobody should be concerned about.

Chronic weed use drains all ambition. Kills dreams, literally.

However, I would trade a nasty addiction like PCP for a weed addiction anytime, because weaning yourself off weed is usually not that big a deal. A couple of stressed irritable days, some light to medium insomnia for about a week with some night sweats and it's all over.

i just can't fucking imagine myself abusing dissociatives and remaining sane lol

Just trade the PCP addiction for a weed addiction. Weed nowadays (from a headies connect) is very potent, meaning you don't have to destroy your lungs just to get high, and for me it satisfies when I am craving opiates. I don't think PCP is more addictive than opiates, nothing is except maybe nicotine.

Sure this may be seen as ineffective by some, and yes weed addiction will produce problems of it's own, but for godsake, it's PCP! This has got to be among the most neuro-toxic, permanent CNS/brain damaging narcotics. Not to mention it's effects are extremely unpredictable and you can find yourself in a very bad situation after losing control of yourself. If weed is what it takes to get you off PCP, then try it. IMHO, if you MUST trade a narcotic for something else, it may as well be weed. This way, you'll still have what is left of your brain health, and when you decide to get clean all-together then weed will be an easier kick than any other narcotic. It's like dipping your legs in the cold swimming pool to avoid the shock of jumping in quick. Cold turkey has already proven a failure in your case as well.

arthunter888, PCP is a strong mu opioid agonist, and if you're truly addicted to PCP where you're using daily, you're a simultaneous opioid addict.

SO many people seem to advise heavy use of weed to deal with other drug addictions. In my experience weed is extremely psychologically addictive, especially to people with that kind of personality.

With drug addictions it's never a good idea to swallow the spider to eat the fly.

Yeah, "smoke a lot of weed" is almost never great advice, especially for people who are legitimately seeking a way out of the drug lifestyle.

Smoking a lot of weed helped me to stop smoking cigarettes....

Its more of an urge to just smoke something than a craving for a cigarette....

PCP is kind of a different animal, not a lot of us probably know much about it, i know that i don't.

That being said, quitting an addiction is a struggle that can last years or maybe the rest of your life. But after long enough it does get easier. I know people who have been clean from shooting meth for more than a decade and they still dream about it. Eventually though, the intial suffering will end and after a long enough timeframe you can begin to see how becoming clean has benefited your life in a far more positive way than using ever did.

I started quitting smoking around 3 months ago and it was one of the hardest things i ever put myself through. With 2 exceptions where i relapsed and had one or two i have not had any cigarettes at all. The trick is knowing that every addict relapses, you just have to keep in mind that every time you fall off the wagon you have to get back on before it leaves you behind.

So lets say you manage to go 8 months without smoking pcp and then you find an amazing pcp hookup... and then you smoke some pcp. You could decide to just keep on smoking it, or you could not buy any more and delete the guys number from your phone.... and go another 8 months without it....

It is a day to day struggle, someone mentioned that it is a kind of opiate dependence.... I would say switch to methadone for the inital part of getting over the psychological side of it and then slowly work on tapering the methadone down until your clean.

I am not usually one for replacing one addiction with another but in the end the methadone is going to mess your head up a lot less than daily pcp will..... It is the lesser of two evils.

Work on exercising and develpoing a healthy diet. keeping yourself busy and away from triggers is the best way to prolong how long you can go. And remember that pretty much every addict has and will relapse, the trick is keeping it down to a minimal amount of use when it happens. keep in mind that you became an addict through your use and you will stay one through your use.

I hope this advice helped, also consult the dark side.....

lol move to canada i guarantee youll have a hard time finding that stuff up here. even in a big place like toronto or van city that shits hard to come by

Uh. No it isn't. In Canada, PCP is easily available, especially in Toronto. They call it 'mescaline' there, though.
