PC PC Gamers - Whatcha playin?

Depends really on the voice actors. We Germans have superb voice actors when it comes to AAA media that can afford them, like blockbuster Hollywood movies or big budget games (just listen to Ralph Fiennes or Bruce Willis german voices and you'll see what I mean. Those voices sound more like them than their actual english voices LOL), however when it comes to indie stuff I prefer english versions.

The MIT University actually made a study back then on FEAR's sophisticated appearing AI, however it turned out that it was simply due to good level design (which is actually in and of itself quite impressive). The replicas aren't really intelligent if you pay attention to how they are actually reacting to you. It doesn't matter for example if you are actually flanking them or not, they will always comment on how you are supposedly flanking lol. Even though I usually don't play FPS games, FEAR and its two DLCs Perseus Mandate and that other one of which I can't remember its name, are hands down the best FPS games I have ever played. Also, the soundtrack of that game is really well made. A shame what they did with the other FEAR games. They are more like COD games with horror elements.

Be careful when you compare Call of Kaka to other shooters, COD initially it's a very heavy Uncle Sam teenager rated propaganda. It has janky mechanics and stupid corner peaks, that literally make it stand out to how stupid is designed to play out. COD stands more into the MMO/FPS genre, even though it has 3D camera it doesn't mean shit. ;)

also cod.. as a last verdict, was made more for consoles rather than other major platforms since Americans dig tons of game consoles ever since the 90's. Japan and SUA is recognized worldwide for this specifically with a huge blueprint history regarding console platforms. FEAR even at this day is OG and unique and it has a better AI than Alien Isolation but ofc here I can start a whole controversy but that's just me. So good that even intensified AI mods can't come close to. Those mods just increase the rating for spawn and increase the enemy a bit of health while disgusing real flaws, those mods do not take the leap that the devs did to the AI. I even met a ex FEAR 1 dev and they said partially it is unfinished, just to think, how the real product would've play out, online maps that never came, sp maps that were creepy af and more.

For me is the parent of Half-Life and other copypasta

FEAR is one of those games that I like to keep vanilla. The only mod I have installed is an SFX mod that replaces the gun sounds with more realistic ones. Also, I think you will enjoy Condemned: Criminal Origins, because the same devs that made FEAR also made this game (I think they even reused some minor models such as the black lockers). I think I'll reinstall that game when I have finished VTMB

i have only 256gb storage on my laptop and with windows 11 installed it takes around 65gb of space reserved by windows anyways these are the games i was able to compress into my harddrive:
God of war 3 rom for ps3 for rpcs3
Batman arkham knight
Resident evil requiem
Devil may cry remake.

I agree, but especially in RPGs I preferred the english version to gain access to the best helping sites which used to be in english. What is a "scimitar" and why is a "club" more useful against skeletons? That was the time before automated and useful translations of sites. I am pretty ok in english but medieval language can be challenging.

I've played all of Condemned games and manhunt. Timeless... ;)
